Owned by FMQ Stables and bred by CHC, Saudi Crown (Always Dreaming–New Narration, Tapit) at odds of 5-1, came from off of it to declare victory on debut at Keeneland under overcast skies. Briterdayzahead (Girvin) set the pace early with some solid fractions. The 2-1 favorite looked as though he was in command rounding the far turn and into the lane, but the $240,000 OBSAPR purchase ran him down inside the eighth pole. With some strong acceleration, the gray colt went right by his target, winning by five lengths, as Wild Thinker (Lord Nelson) chased for second. The final running time was 1:10.01.
