Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted April 17, 2023 Journalists Share Posted April 17, 2023 What Sandown Hillside Races Where Sandown Racecourse – 591-659 Princes Hwy, Springvale VIC 3171 When Wednesday, April 19, 2023 First Race 1pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Following consistent action on the Lakeside track at Sandown in recent weeks, racing returns to the Hillside surface this Wednesday afternoon for an eight-race card. Perfect weather conditions are forecast in Melbourne’s south-east this week, so we anticipate to be racing on a firmer track than what the Soft 7 currently suggests. The rail comes out 13m the entire circuit, with racing to get underway at 1pm AEST. Best Bet at Sandown: Tick Tock Lady Grahame Begg’s Tick Tock Lady returns the track and trip of her maiden win three starts back, and despite being six weeks between runs, she is sure to take some beating. The four-year-old mare was left with too much to do at Pakenham last time out when chasing home Soaring Eagle over 1600m. That was back on March 3, and considering this girl has been back to the trials between runs, we’re willing to side with the San Padre mare. She has been racing in similar races to this, and with two wins and a second to her name in her three starts, she clearly brings the best form to the race. If Jordan Childs can have Tick Tock Lady settled midfield with cover, she should prove too hard to hold out. Best Bet Race 2 – #4 Tick Tock Lady (4) 4yo Mare | T: Grahame Begg | J: Jordan Childs (59.5kg) Bet with Bet365 Next Best at Sandown: Globe We were with Globe when he disposed of his rivals in 0-64 company at Pakenham on March 30, and we anticipate he can keep his undefeated streak alive when he steps out at Sandown on Wednesday. The four-year-old gelding has a racing pattern which is hard to knock, as he jumps cleanly from the gates, dictates terms and kicks clear in the home straight. This is obviously his hardest test, but his first two starts – both wins – suggest he is up to this level. From barrier two, Celine Gaudray will have no issue in dictating terms out in front, and with her 3kg claim, Globe gets in perfectly with just 58.5kg on his back. He is proven on both softer and firmer going, so whatever conditions Globe faces, he should prove far too good for his rivals once again. Next Best Race 8 – #2 Globe (2) 4yo Gelding | T: Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) | J: Celine Gaudray (a3) (61.5kg) Bet with Ladbrokes Best Value at Sandown: El Soleado The Future Stars Final at Pakenham on March 2 has been a strong form reference so far, and we are hoping that is the case once again with Robbie Laing’s El Soleado. The three-year-old gelding finished two lengths off Marble Arch that night when settling towards the rear and hitting the line with great intent. He then went back to Pakenham and disposed of his rivals in a dominant all-the-way win over the 1400m. Following his win when leading, we anticipate Blake Shinn will take up a similar approach on Wednesday. From the low draw, we can see El Soleado running a big race at a nice price with online bookmakers. Best Value Race 6 – #9 El Soleado (4) 3yo Gelding | T: Robbie Laing | J: Blake Shinn (59kg) Bet with Neds Wednesday quaddie tips for Sandown races Sandown quadrella selections Wednesday, April 19, 2023 2-4-6-8-10-11 5-6-8-9 1-4-8-13 2 Investment: $96 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
