Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 16, 2018 Journalists Posted September 16, 2018 La Pelosa (Ire) (2, Dandy Man {Ire}–Lauren’s Girl {Ire}, by Bushranger {Ire}) was unhurried from post 13 in the early going, but made all the running late as she swept to victory in Sunday’s GI Natlama S. at Woodbine. Making her North American debut for Godolphin, the filly gave the ‘Boys in Blue’ its third Group 1/Grade I Sunday, following wins in Ireland and France. Sent off at 3-1, La Pelosa settled behind the free-running longshot Eyeinthesky (Sky Mesa), who carved out initial fractions of :22.98 and :45.36. Jockey Jamie Spencer gave La Pelosa the cue approaching the home turn, and the filly drew closer to the front, gained control in the stretch and repelled the charge of the errant favorite My Gal Betty (Point of Entry), who narrowed the gap on the leader despite drifting out late. Bold Script (Speightstown) rounded out the Triactor. Final time for the mile test was 1:33.70. Lifetime Record: 6-2-2-1, 204,270. O-Godolphin; B-Elton Lodge Stud; T-Charles Appleby.
