Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Tuesday’s Insights features a half-sister to G1 Prix du Moulin-winning sire Vadamos (Fr) (Monsun {Ger).

2.20 Yarmouth, Cond, £10,400, 2yo, 6f 3yT
MAGIC J (Scat Daddy) cost Phoenix Thoroughbred Limited $950,000 at Keeneland September, due largely to the fact that he is out of a half to the MGSP Tejida (Rahy) from the family of Hawkbill (Kitten’s Joy). The operation’s similarly significant purchases by Scat Daddy, Mistress of Love and Kadar, have won this month and the Ed Vaughan-trained colt faces another newcomer of note in a hot contest in Shadwell’s $500,000 Keeneland purchase Mubakker (Speightstown), a Sir Michael Stoute-trained son of the GII Beaumont S. winner Ready To Act (More Than Ready).

 2.20 Compiegne, Mdn, €27,000, 2yo, f, 8fT
VADIVINA (IRE) (New Approach {Ire}) is a half-sister to the G1 Prix du Moulin-winning sire Vadamos (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}) who debuts in the silks of her breeders Haras de Saint Pair. Andre Fabre saddles the April-foaled chestnut, who encounters several other newcomers including Ballymore Thoroughbred’s Legende D’Or (GB) (Dansili {GB}), a Henri-Francois Devin trainee whose dam is a half to Loup Breton (Ire) (Anabaa).

2.30 Lingfield, Cond, £5,800, 2yo, f, 7f (AWT)
ASAATIER (War Front) is one of those John Gosden newcomers worth keeping an eye on, being a daughter of the 2012 GI Alcibiades S. winner Spring In the Air (Spring At Last). Prince A A Faisal’s 300,000gns TATOCT yearling takes on 11 rivals on the Polytrack.
