Hong Kong racing heads to Sha Tin on Wednesday night for a ultra-competitive eight-race program on the all-weather circuit. It comes after torrential rain hit the course on Sunday afternoon; however, we should be in for much more favourable conditions on Wednesday evening. It’s one of the rare Sha Tin meetings during the week, so let’s see if we can find some winners. Racing is set to get underway at 7:15pm HKT (9:15pm AEST).

Best Bet at Sha Tin: Gummy Gummy

Gummy Gummy gets the best bet nod on Wednesday evening and with his form on the all-weather surface it’s easy to see why. He’s had two starts on the Sha Tin all-weather for two minor placings and has been racing behind a very progressive type in the form of Youthful Deal, forcing Gummy Gummy to settle for second placing. You know exactly what you’re going to get from this son of Snitzel now and with the quality of form jumping off the page, it’s hard to go past him as the on top selection. Zac Purton takes the reins again on Wednesday night and he only needs to replicate his effort on April 23 to be taking out this Class 3 sprint. There are some good horses on show here with last start winner, Winning Icy, posing some threat, but we’re confident Gummy Gummy has the ability to get the job done, breaking his maiden status in the process.

Next Best at Sha Tin: Shining Fortune

Shinning Fortune is looking for his third win on the all-weather surface this preparation, and despite having to lug the big weight on his rating, we think he’s more than capable. He drew a horrid gate last start being beaten 3.8 lengths on April 23 and we want to be forgiving of that effort. The start prior he drew barrier one on March 29 and proceeded to smash his rivals, careering away with a 1.3-length victory. If you take him on his winning effort, he must be considered the one to beat. Karis Teetan keeps the ride on this son of Street Boss and maps to get an ideal run behind the leaders. He might need a bit of luck when turning for home, but we’ll leave it to Karis Teetan to utilize the saloon passage to score another win this campaign.

Next Best Again at Sha Tin: Billionaire Secret

Billionaire Secret is yet to break his Hong Kong maiden but we’re confident this gelding by Slade Power is very close to getting off the mark. He’s had no luck drawing a barrier, getting 10 and 12 his last two starts, spelling the end before the races begun. This time he draws barrier five and should get a much more economical run throughout the 1650m journey. The only minor concern is his inability to jump evenly, but with the Vincent Ho knowing this four-year-old well, we trust he can find a lovely run for followers. You should be getting a good price when online bookmakers open betting and Billionaire Secret should be a great chance of gaining his second career win.
