Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 9, 2023 Journalists Share Posted May 9, 2023 What Wyong Races Where Wyong Race Club & Function Centre – 71-73 Howarth St, Wyong NSW 2259 When Thursday, May 11, 2023 First Race 12:20pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Racing in New South Wales heads to Wyong on Thursday afternoon for a massive eight-race program with 120-horses accepted across the packed card. We should have ideal conditions for racing, with the rail in the true position the entire circuit, and the Soft 6 surface currently listed for race-day likely to be upgraded into the Good range with perfect weather forecast in the lead up. The first race is set to get underway at 12:20pm AEST. Best Bet at Wyong: Little Countreau On what looks a very tricky Wyong card to dissect, Little Cointreau looks a solid candidate for the best bet tag. His first-up effort at Kembla Grange on April 26 suggested he’s returned nicely from his 19-week spell, and although he was a beaten favourite on that occasion, it was more due to the bottomless conditions of the track. He comes here with a strong hit out under his belt and now finding a more suitable racing surface, should be much improved on Thursday afternoon. This son of Contributor is yet to break his maiden status; however, with a perfect barrier to sit in behind the leaders, this is seemingly his best opportunity to put it all together. The Joseph Pride yard have some nice younger horses in work and Little Cointreau is no exception. Best Bet Race 2 – #5 Little Cointreau (2) 3yo Gelding | T: Joseph Pride | J: Keagan Latham (59kg) $2.60 with Bet365 Next Best at Wyong: The Englishman The Englishman got his much-deserved maiden victory last start at Kembla Grange April 26, and we’re confident this son of Tavistock can go on with the job. His win came by a small margin over the 1500m, and we’ve always been of the opinion he’d only get better over further. He sees the 2100m for the first time in the preparation and after getting a confidence building win on the board, should only improve with the step up in trip. Barrier 12 does pose an issue for jockey Chad Schofield, but The Englishman tends to get back in his racing pattern regardless. Provided we get a genuine staying test on Thursday afternoon, The Englishman should get every possible chance to make it back-to-back wins for the Peter & Paul Snowden yard. Next Best Race 5 – #6 The Englishman (12) 3yo Gelding | T: Peter & Paul Snowden | J: Chad Schofield (57.5kg) Bet with Neds Best Value at Wyong: Kovanos We’re getting a terrific price with online bookmakers for our best value runner at Wyong and it comes it the form of Kovanos. This debutant for the Annabel Neasham yard is one of the more intriguing gallopers on the program Her two barrier trials on wet tracks haven’t blown us away but won her second jump-out at Kembla Grange on May 3. She was hard ridden to the line; however, being by a Japanese sire of Staphanos, we believe she will greatly improve on the Good 4 surface likely for Thursday afternoon. She maps to get a good run throughout the 1100m journey and with better conditions can only run well for the Annabel Neasham stable. Best Value Race 3 – #13 Kovanos (4) 2yo Filly | T: Annabel Neasham | J: Chad Schofield (55kg) $23 with Palmerbet Thursday quaddie tips for Wyong races Wyong quadrella selections Thursday, May 11, 2023 2-5-6-7-11 1-4-5-11 1-3-4-8 2-8-10-11-15 Investment: $400 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
