GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Trent  Fellas, the Sportsbet Sandown Cup Carnival begins this evening and what a night we have with heats of the Group 1 Sportsbet Sapphire Crown and Group 1 Sportsbet Harrison-Dawson.

Quilts  The return of defending champion Wow She’s Fast highlights the first Sapphire Crown heat. Kel Greenough advised me this week that “she’s still in good nick”.

Gerard  The second Sapphire Crown heat should be a beauty, Quilts. The promising Magic Muffin faces the multiple Group 1 runner-up Baby Jaycee. What a clash!

Trent  The excitement doesn’t stop with the third heat of the Sapphire Crown. The country cups queen Kelsey Bale is primed to stretch her winning streak to seven races.

Gerard  We then move to the Harrison-Dawson heats, and how even is the first heat? Aston Lira, Mepunga Warrior, Black Sail, Paddy Wants Pats and Elite Alex are all classy performers.

Quilts  The second Harrison-Dawson heat is just as competitive, Gerard. Rhino Bale, Stealth, Quinlan Bale, Electrified and Trapper Tears. Good luck picking the winner in Race 7.

Gerard  Jeff Chignell is hopeful that his in-form chaser Fred Rose acquits himself well in the third heat of the Harrison-Dawson. He is up against the Perth Cup winner Elite Machine and potential topliner Make No Promise.

Trent  The fourth Harrison-Dawson heat should be fascinating. Group 1 winner Amron Boy loves Sandown Park and Box 1, while the Launching Pad winner Trooper Tears will be charging late.

Quilts  There will be huge intrigue in Race 5 with Galaxy placegetter Couch Surfer having his final run before next Thursday night’s heats of the Group 1 Sportsbet Sandown Cup.

Trent  Saturday night’s Premier Racing at The Meadows also has Runway winner Big Energy, Country Classic runner-up Ailee Bale and Melbourne Cup champion Yachi Bale going around.
