Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 15, 2023 Journalists Share Posted May 15, 2023 What Port Macquarie Races Where Port Macquarie Race Club – 283 Oxley Hwy, Port Macquarie NSW 2444 When Tuesday, May 16, 2023 First Race 11:45pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Racing heads to Port Macquarie on Tuesday with a massive nine-race program set for decision. The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit, and although the track is currently listed as a Good 4 surface, the likelihood of rain at the start of the week means we’re expecting a downgrade into the Soft range. Racing is set to get underway at 11:45pm AEST. Best Bet: Better Not Bitter It’s been a steady preparation for Better Not Bitter, and now he looks set to find his second career win late in the campaign. His maiden victory came two starts back at this course over the 1500m and gave them a galloping lesson in the process to score a 3.8-length win. He’s since run into another nice progressive type in the form of La Vesuvius at Taree on May 5, and looks ready now to step up in trip to the 1800m at an ideal stage. This son of Starspangledbanner looks too good for Class 1 company, and with a perfect draw and jockey booking to boot, Better Not Bitter should be very hard to beat in the second race of the Port Macquarie program. Best Bet Race 2 – #2 Better Not Bitter (3) 4yo Gelding | T: Kris Lees | J: Aaron Bullock (59kg) $2.15 with Bet365 Next Best: Diva Carolina We’ll be looking for a race-to-race double for the Kris Lees and Aaron Bullock combination when Diva Carolina steps out in the third race on the card. This daughter of Tivaci has had just one run in her short career at Avondale on October 12 and has since made the trek to Australia. Her barrier trials upon resumption have been nothing short of outstanding, and we’d be shocked if Diva Carolina wasn’t set up perfectly to run a bold race on Australian debut. It’s been a long 216-day spell for this three-year-old; however, based on what we’ve seen at her jump-outs, she must be considered a major player here. Bullock takes the reins and from the middle draw should find a spot somewhere mid-field before powering to the line to score. Next Best Race 3 – #4 Diva Carolina (7) 3yo Filly | T: Kris Lees | J: Aaron Bullock (57kg) $2.40 with Neds Best Value: No Quarantine No Quarantine is set to have his fourth run for the Daniel Want stable after being transferred from the Greg Eurell yard, and we think can produce a peak effort second-up. This son of Master Of Design was an eye-catcher first-up at Grafton over the unsuitable 1006m journey and now immediately finds himself at the 1200m. He found the line with vigour and seems to be settling in nicely for the new team. Jodi Worley takes the mount and knows this guy well now, and despite the wide barrier to deal with, No Quarantine looks a good chance to find his third career win – and at a tasty price with the top betting sites. Best Value Race 8 – #1 No Quarantine (11) 5yo Gelding | T: Daniel Want | J: Jodi Worley (60kg) $8.50 with Palmerbet Tuesday quaddie tips for Port Macquarie Port Macquarie quadrella selections Tuesday, May 16, 2023 1-3-7 1-2-8-15 1-2-5-9 2-4-5-11 Investment: $192 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
