The Horseracing Industry Conference (HIC) has been postponed due to the planned train strike on May 31, with additional disruptions expected on major lines to York on June 1, the original day of the event.

Organised by the Racing Foundation in partnership with the University of Liverpool Management School, the event will instead take place at York on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The Racing Foundation is committed to environmental sustainability and the 2023 conference was planned with that focus in mind. The goal of the conference was to create a valuable networking opportunity for the diverse delegates throughout the day, and that is why the conference has been postponed and not moved online.

CEO of the Racing Foundation, Rob Hezel said, “Data has been collected to calculate the carbon footprint of the event so we knew well over half of the delegates registered for the event were planning to travel by train.  It is important we remain true to the values and the pledges we have made around this event, and therefore we have taken the difficult decision to re-arrange the date. Tuesday, 24 October is the only date we have been able to identify and we hope that it gives people enough time to rearrange their plans.”

If delegates are unable to attend on the new date, please contact antonia.bullrich@racingfoundation.co.uk with your reference number and she will assist you with the necessary arrangements.
