The first race begins at 12.15pm (NZST) Best Bet at Pukekohe – Devastate Devastate resumed from a spell last start to finish third of eight runners when sent out as the favourite over 1400m. He led early and held that position until headed with 200m to run but fought on well to the line. He will strip a lot fitter today and won second-up in his last prep. Michael McNab remains in the saddle and although drawn the widest in the field, on the heavy track that should help his winning chances. Best Bet Race 4 – #1 Devastate (10) 3yo Gelding | T: Andrew Forsman | J: Michael McNab (58.5kg) $2.25 with Bet365 Next Best at Pukekohe – Donttelltimmy Donttelltimmy looks close to recording another victory following a last start second over 1600m on a heavy track when having to race wide for most of the trip. This Tony Pike-trained mare handles heavy track conditions well and she looks well placed to record another victory. Next Best Race 5 – #3 Donttelltimmy (6) 4yo Mare | T: Tony Pike | J: Michael McNab (58kg) $4.60 with Ladbrokes Best Value at Pukekohe – Magdala Magdala came home well to finish second last start over 1600m on a heavy track. This mare races well at this venue and has a good record racing on heavy tracks. The 2kg claiming allowance will help her winning chances. She is having her third run back this campaign and will strip a lot fitter than her last run.
