Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted May 26, 2023 Journalists Share Posted May 26, 2023 By Dave Di Somma, Harness News Desk Could there be a better way to celebrate your 100th start? Last night Superstar Legend, trained by Michael House and driven by son Wilson, won at big odds at Addington for the second time this month. “At start 100 that was pretty cool for her to win it,” Wilson House told Harness Unhinged’s Nigel Armstrong post race, “it was a tremendous effort.” She was the outsider of the eight-horse field in the Woodlands Stud Thanks Our Buyers Fillies and Mares Mobile Pace. House had the mare five back the fence early on before getting into the one-one and then launching down the outside to win by a neck. She paid $29.80, and with Smokin Annie finishing second it was a Michael House-trained quinella, with the first two home both eight-year-old mares. “She gave me a great feel behind the gate,” says House, “and I could barely hold onto her in the warm up so she’s in a good mood.” Favourite Dance Till Dawn worked hard to circle the field and looked a threat until fading to finish fifth. Just two starts back Superstar Legend was again the the rank outsider, paying $78.10 and $18.00 when winning at Addington. She now has 12 career wins, with her first at Forbury Park in 2019. Last night was her 20th start this year, and her earnings now exceed $120,000. View the full article
