Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted September 22, 2018 Journalists Share Posted September 22, 2018 Puerto Escondido (Arg) (Hurricane Car), Argentina’s Horse of the Year in 2017, has been retired from racing after failing to recover from a tendon to his left fore that had kept him off the track since his triumph in the G1 Gran Premio Miguel A Martinez de Hoz last February. He will enter stud in time for the 2019 Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Antonio Bullrich’s Haras El Mallin, the same farm that bred Puerto Escondido. A son of Surf Point (Arg) (Louis Quatorze), Puerto Escondido won the 2017 Martinez de Hoz for his first top-level success and went on to win six of his final seven career appearances, including a four-length victory in the prestigious G1 Carlos Pellegrini at San Isidro last December.
