She had to earn it early but champion 2-year-old filly and 'TDN Rising Star' ECHO ZULU (f, 4, Gun Runner–Letgomyecho, by Menifee) was much the best late to start her 4-year-old campaign off on a high note in the GIII Winning Colors S. Not seen since her game second in the GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, the chestnut went right for the lead but was pressed every step of the way by Fire On Time (Not This Time), who stuck right on her outside through a sharp quarter in :21.30. The pair raced one-two through the far turn and, though it looked briefly as though Echo Zulu might be headed at the top of the lane, she responded to a shake of the reins and drew off to win going away. Lifetime Record: 9-7-1-0.
