Pakenham synthetic betting tips

What Pakenham Synthetic Races
Where Pakenham Racing Club – 420 Nar Nar Goon–Longwarry Rd, Tynong VIC 3813
When Friday, June 2, 2023
First Race 1pm AEST

Visit Ladbrokes

Racing heads to the synthetic surface at Pakenham for the second time this week, with an eight-race program scheduled for Friday afternoon. A shower or two is forecast for Friday, which should not affect things too much, and if recent meetings on the all-weather track are anything to go by, it will be no disadvantage to be out wide and making your run late. The first race is set to jump at 1pm AEST.

Best Bet at Pakenham: Thermodynamic

It is not very often Chris Waller sends his horses to the Pakenham synthetic, so we are hoping his three-year-old gelding Thermodynamic can get the job done on Friday. The gelded son of Kodiac managed to run within a length of the seemingly smart Monarchs Brae at Bendigo on May 17 when knocked off within the shadows of the winning post. From barrier seven, look for Jordan Childs to land this bloke in the plumb position throughout and with a touch of luck upon turning, Thermodynamic looks to have more than enough ability to be breaking his maiden on the Pakenham synthetic over 1400m.

Next Best at Pakenham: Redzoust

It was just two runs ago that the Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained Redzoust finished 3.5 lengths off I’mlovin’ya in the Listed Redelva Stakes at Morphettville. Despite a poor run at Flemington on May 13, we expect the three-year-old Zoustar colt will bounce back in style. He has two wins and a second from three starts on the synthetic, albeit the Ballarat all-weather track. He draws barrier three for Group 1-winning hoop Billy Egan and looks set to gain a perfect run in transit just off the leaders. Redzoust needs to lump 62.5kg, but he is clearly the best horse in the race and with even luck, we expect he will be winning this BM64 affair over 1400m.

Next Best Again at Pakenham: Diesel ‘N’ Dust

The Jason Warren-trained Diesel ‘N’ Dust is the definition of a synthetic specialist and relishes the Pakenham synthetic 1200m with a record of 5: 2-2-1. The five-year-old gelded son of Pride of Dubai will need to overcome a disastrous first-up record of 5: 0-0-0 but considering none of those starts have come on a synthetic surface, we are happy to ignore it. He should gain a beautiful run in transit just off the speed under Thomas Stockdale and when asked for an effort, look for Diesel ‘N’ Dust to build through his gear and ultimately leave his rivals in the dust and build on already impress track and trip record.

Next Best Again

Race 7 – silks#5 Diesel ‘N’ Dust (5)

5yo Gelding | T: Jason Warren | J: Thomas Stockdale (57.5kg)
