For a second-straight week in Adelaide, racing is scheduled for the Parks track at Morphettville. Following plenty of rain in Adelaide during the week, we expect to be racing on a Soft 7 or Heavy 8, while the rail comes out 6m from the 1000m to the winning post and sits true the remainder. The first of nice races is set to jump at 11:32am ACST.

Best Bet at Morphettville: Another Ponzi

Our best of the day from Morphettville comes in the opening leg of the quaddie when Another Ponzi from the Richard & Chantelle Jolly barn steps out over 1400m. The three-year-old gelding has won both of his starts this campaign at Balaklava in impressive fashion and gets his chance in town to show his abilities. He will be close to the speed throughout, potentially in the one-one and if he lobs there under Jake Toeroek, he is sure to take some beating. Another Ponzi has reeled off some nice sectionals in both of his starts and anything close to those efforts should see him saluting in a race like this.

Best Bet

Race 6 – Silk #2 Another Ponzi (9)

3yo Gelding | T: Richard & Chantelle Jolly | J: Jake Toeroek (60.5kg)

Next Best at Morphettville: Metro Legend

Metro Legend looked to have the race sewn up last time out on Heavy 8 before being nosed out by Aston Rapova over 1250m, but we expect he will go one better this time around. The five-year-old gelded son of Redoute’s Choice enjoys rain-affected ground and should be up on speed throughout this 1250m event and maps to get an uncontested lead. Jacob Opperman with his 1.5kg claim is a perfect booking for this bloke and if he can get a cheap sectional upon settling, Metro Legend will have a tactical advantage on his rivals and with just 53kg on his back should prove too hard to run down.

Next Best

Race 2 – Silk #3 Metro Legend (7)

5yo Gelding | T: Aaron Bain | J: Jacob Opperman (a1.5) (54.5kg)

$3 with Betfair

Best Value at Morphettville: Shooting For Stars

The Will Clarken & Nikki O’Shea-trained Shooting For Stars was an impressive Class 2 winner at Balaklava on May 24 and we anticipate she will go on with the job on Saturday. The three-year-old filly managed to slip through under the rails from the rear of the field and ran away from her rivals like a good horse should. She has been quite woeful at here first three Adelaide starts, but at Balaklava she managed to put it all together and showed what she was capable of, much like she did in her juvenile campaign. This is obviously a step up in company, but from barrier six she should gain a perfect run in transit under Lachie Neindorf. If she replicates the same turn of foot that she produced last time out, Shooting For Stars is in this BM70 over 1250m right up to her neck.

Best Value

Race 5 – Silk #6 Shooting For Stars (6)

3yo Filly | T: Will Clarken & Nikki O’Shea | J: Lachlan Neindorf (55kg)

$11 with Palmerbet
