Monday is a public holiday across Australia which means punters will have plenty of racing to sink their teeth into. NSW racing is no exception as Warwick Farm are set to host a strong eight-race program. The rail is out +5m from the 1000m to winning post and sits out +3m for the remainder of the circuit. We’re expecting a Good 4 surface for race-day as the weekend forecast looks very favourable for racegoers. The first race is set to get underway at 12:15pm AEST.

Best Bet at Warwick Farm: Need Some Luck

We’ll be looking to get some damage done nice and early on Monday afternoon with Need Some Luck looking a very progressive two-year-old. His debut was riddled with excuses throughout the 1200m journey at this course on May 31, as the son of Rubick was cast wide throughout from barrier 11. He was still classy enough to chase home the eventual winner Piercing Arrow and finish less than a length away in second placing. He now draws barrier one and should find the most economical run with Kerrin McEvoy aboard, and provided Need Some Luck gets exactly that when turning for home, he’s the one to beat in the second race of the program.

Best Bet

Race 2 – Silk #7 Need Some Luck (1)

2yo Colt | T: Peter & Paul Snowden | J: Kerrin McEvoy (56kg)

Next Best at Warwick Farm: Selous

Selous got his reward for consistency this campaign when scoring at Kembla Grange on May 27 and we think he can find back-to-back wins heading to Warwick Farm. His win came in Class 1 company when going around at the extremely short quote; however, it was an easy watch for backers as Selous careered away with the prize a long way out. The 1.5-length margin was flattering to his rivals. He now steps into BM72 grade for the first time and we’re confident this gelding out of Shooting To Win can go on with the job. Trainer James Cummings tends to place his gallopers beautifully and this looks and ideal set up for Selous.

Next Best

Race 7 – Silk #8 Selous (6)

3yo Gelding | T: James Cummings | J: Sam Clipperton (58kg)

$3.80 with Bet365

Best Value at Warwick Farm: Darlington County

The most intriguing runner on the card at Warwick Farm might be Darlington County, and we’re happy to take the risk on this Newly acquired New Zealand import for the Chris Waller camp. She looks to have arrived in terrific order based on her only jump-out at Randwick on June 2 and although the margin was significant, it’s also deceiving. Her work was sensational and just seemed to be getting into her best work late. Her form in New Zealand suggests she may want further than the 1600m on offer; however, this is the stage of the preparation you’re going to get such a good each-way price with online bookmakers, Darlington County is too good to pass up on at the value.

Best Value

Race 6 – Silk #10 Darlington County (2)

5yo Mare | T: Chris Waller | J: Kerrin McEvoy (55.5kg)

$15 with Betfair
