His sire clinched the Triple Crown on this card five years ago and Saturday, Zedan Racing Stable's 'TDN Rising Star' ARABIAN LION (c, 3, Justify–Unbound, by Distorted Humor) became the first Grade I winner for his Ashford Stud-based stallion with a comprehensive victory in the Woody Stephens S. at Belmont Park. Drawn nicely in gate two, the $600,000 OBS April breezer enjoyed the run of the race from fourth, drafting in behind pacesetting Federal Judge (Army Mule) who had pace pressure from his outside in the form of Drew's Gold (Violence). The latter bid for the lead outside turning for home, but Arabian Lion had it covered, angled out and pounced on the new leader at the midstretch marker and glided home a convincing winner. Gilmore (Twirling Candy) ran on late to be third. Sales history; $600,000 2yo '22 OBSAPR. O-Zedan Racing Stable; B-Bonne Chance Farm (KY); T-Bob Baffert.
