Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of greyhounds to follow from around Victoria. You may even want to add them to your Blackbook account.

WEBLEC WOLF (Box 4)
Breeding: November ‘21 Kinloch Brae x Weblec Diamond
Trainer: Jeff Britton (Anakie)
Record: 4 starts 0-0-2

Dale says: Weblec Wolf is yet to win after four starts, but he looks like an improving type.

He had no luck in his heat and semi-final of the Pink Diamond Maiden Sprinter, but he has qualified for the final to be run at Warragul this Friday night where he has drawn ideally in Box 1.

Expect a bold showing at nice each-way odds.

Best traits: Top speed soon after box rise
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: 450 metres

RENEGADE COCHISE (Box 4)
Breeding: July ‘21 Fernando Bale x Mystic Riot
Trainer: Anthony Azzopardi (Rowsley)
Record: 2 starts 1-1-0

Dale says: Renegade Cochise made a big impression when he recorded an explosive all-the-way victory in 22.58 seconds on debut in a heat of the Pink Diamond Maiden Short Course at Warragul.

He had no luck as a gutsy second in his semi-final.

Renegade Cochise is drawn awkwardly on Friday night in the final (Box 5), but he will be hard to beat with a timely beginning.

Best traits: Versatile, elite early speed
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: 400 metres

ZULU BLAST (Box 3)
Breeding: September ’21 Orson Allen x Cyclone Jebel
Trainer: Jason Thompson (Pearcedale)
Record: 5 starts 3-0-0

Dale says: When you boast early speed, strong run home times and have tenacious chasing qualities, that usually is a recipe for success, and Zulu Blast has all those ingredients in spades.

His last win was simply breathtaking.

Still learning and at just 21 months of age, Zulu Blast has the potential to become a star of the sport.

Best traits: Sustained speed, tenacious
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: 500 metres
