The Murray Bridge Racing Club is the destination for metropolitan racing in South Australia once again, with a tricky eight-race card programmed this Saturday. The track came up a Soft 5 at the time of acceptances, and with showers forecast throughout the afternoon, we will be on a deteriorating surface as the meeting goes on. The rail comes out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and out 2m in the 1200m chute, while it stays true the remainder. The action gets underway at 12:07pm ACST.

Best Bet at Murray Bridge: Bristler

Bristler was a dominant maiden winner on the Morphettville Parks track on June 3 when leading throughout and giving his rivals no hope throughout. The win came on the back of a smart third behind the classy Sghirripa when beaten under a length and he just simply looks a class above his rivals in this BM64 1000m sprint. It should be ‘handlebars down’ for Lachie Neindorf and this son of Zebedee as the pair should have no issue in dictating terms throughout. If Bristler brings the high-cruising speed he showed at Morphettville, he should be bringing up a second win from three starts in nice fashion.

Best Bet

Race 4 – Silk #3 Bristler (3)

3yo Gelding | T: Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle | J: Lachie Neindorf (59kg)

Next Best at Murray Bridge: Turf Decision

Upon his return to South Australian, the Jeff Searle-trained Turf Decision looks impossible to go past in the opening event. The four-year-old gelding was beaten a touch under three lengths in a much tougher race at Bendigo back on May 17 and despite being four weeks between runs, we are happy to side with him as he steps back from the 1400m to the 1200m. He has three wins from four goes at the trip including a win to his name already at the Murray Bridge 1200m. He will be towards the rear upon settling and despite needing to lug 61kg under Dom Tourneur, Turf Decision is armed with an explosive turn of foot for a sprinter and as long as he handles the big weight, he should prove too hard to hold out.

Next Best

Race 1 – Silk #1 Turf Decision (6)

4yo Gelding | T: Jeff Searle | J: Dom Tourneur (61kg)

Best Value at Murray Bridge: Red Roof

In the second leg of the quaddie, we will be hoping the Kristi Evans-trained Red Roof can bounce back from an average showing at Morphettville. The five-year-old mare was okay without being a winning chance when finishing midfield, beaten a shade over two lengths. The Americain mare had won three of her past four starts on the Provincial circuit in South Australia and has struck quite the winnable BM64 on Saturday. Aided by Alana Livesey’s 3kg claim, she goes around with just 54kg on her back and at nice price with online bookmakers looks a great each-way play.

Best Value

Race 6 – Silk #8 Red Roof (9)

5yo Mare | T: Kristi Evans | J: Alana Livesey (a3) (57kg)
