Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 17, 2023 Journalists Share Posted June 17, 2023 What Ballarat Synthetic Races Where Ballarat Turf Club – 240 Kennedys Rd, Miners Rest VIC 3352 When Monday, June 19, 2023 First Race 12:30pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes The synthetic track at the Ballarat Turf Club is the destination for racing in Victoria on Monday afternoon where a bumper nine-race program is scheduled. Winter will have well and truly hit on raceday, with a top of nine degrees and persistent showers forecast for Ballarat. It could pay to be up on speed to avoid the kickback throughout the day, which commences with the first at 12:30pm AEST. Best Bet at Ballarat: Frenchmans Bay Frenchman’s Bay is known to be a costly conveyance, but if the mare cannont claim this BM58, she may not win another race. The four-year-old mare broke her maiden first-up at this track over 1200m, before just giving her rivals too much of a start in a 0-64 event at the same track and trip. The step up to the 1400m for the first time in her career looks ideal third-up from a spell and despite needing to lug 62kg under John Allen, she is sure to be given every chance to strike from barrier five. With speed drawn outside of her, Frenchmans Bay should have every chance to finish over the top of her rivals in the penultimate. Best Bet Race 8 – #3 Frenchmans Bay (5) 4yo Mare | T: Andrew Noblet | J: John Allen (62kg) $2.15 with Unibet Next Best at Ballarat: Comb Over Con We will be looking to build a bank early on Monday as the Tom Dabernig-trained Comb Over Con has struck the perfect race to break his maiden in. The three-year-old gelding has finished second at both of his start at the Ballarat Synthetic 1200m but has found just one better on each occasion. The son of Impending draws barrier two under Jarrod Fry and with the want to race up on speed, he looks destined to lead this field uncontested and if he repeats the type of efforts he has produced in recent times, Comb Over Con should pack too much for his rivals late on Monday. Next Best Race 2 – #3 Comb Over Con (2) 3yo Gelding | T: Tom Dabernig | J: Jarrod Fry (58kg) $2.60 with Palmerbet Best Value at Ballarat: Sunburnt The Bill Cerchi-trained Sunburnt has been racing consistently without winning this time in and on his synthetic track debut, we’re happy to side with her. The five-year-old mare is tactically versatile and from barrier nine, if Rhys McLeod can get a cart across the field and land the one-one position, she will be poised to strike. From four goes at the 1000m, she has three minor placings to her name and considering she is a two-time winner over her career at the 1200m, if the leaders go too hard out in front, Sunburnt should be the one finishing over the top of her rivals in the opening leg of the quaddie. Best Value Race 6 – #8 Sunburnt (9) 5yo Mare | T: Bill Cerchi | J: Rhys McLeod (59kg) $11 with Bet365 Monday quaddie tips for Ballarat Ballarat Synthetic quadrella selections Monday, June 18, 2023 1-4-7-8 2-4-7-11 1-3 1-2-4-8 Investment: $128 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
