The United Arab Emirates-based company have been sponsoring in New Zealand since 2017. “We really look forward to continuing our investment and support for the New Zealand racing industry in general, but particularly in both Christchurch and Wellington,” Al Basti Equiworld Dubai founder and owner Mr Malih Al Basti said. “We will continue to develop our relationship throughout the New Zealand industry and will always do what we can to assist with the growth of the industry profile.” Canterbury Jockey Club Chair Dianne Logie said the club was delighted to have the continued support of Al Basti Equiworld Dubai. “The Canterbury Jockey Club is delighted with this continued demonstration of faith by such an internationally renowned business as Al Basti Equiworld Dubai in New Zealand’s premier week of thoroughbred racing, and the New Zealand racing industry generally,” she said. Wellington’s RACE chief executive Tim Savell echoed this sentiment. “We are delighted that our long-standing connection with Al Basti Equiworld Dubai has been extended,” he said. “The New Zealand Oaks at Trentham continues to go from strength-to-strength, and Al Basti Equiworld Dubai have been instrumental in this success.” The sponsorship at both Riccarton Park and Trentham extends further than the two Group One feature races, with the sponsorship of best turned out cash prizes for every race run at each venue.
