Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 23, 2023 Journalists Share Posted June 23, 2023 What Werribee Races Where Werribee Racing Club – 2-10 Bulban Rd, Werribee VIC 3030 When Sunday, June 25, 2023 First Race 11:50am AEST Visit Ladbrokes Werribee Racing Club is set to host a competitive eight-race program on Sunday afternoon. The track has come up a Heavy 8 and despite a couple of dry days in the lead-up to the meeting, we don’t expect to be racing on anything firmer than a Soft 7. The rail comes out 5m the entire circuit for the meeting, which kicks off at 11:55am AEST. Best Bet at Werribee – Starwisp Starwisp was a dominant maiden winner at Wodonga on May 27 and can go on with the job here in BM58 class. The horse that finished second that day has since broken its maiden, franking the form. He was a seven-start maiden prior to that win, but his last two runs suggest he should go well in a race like this. He should be up on speed from barrier three under Jack Hill, which is no disadvantage at Werribee – especially when the rail is out on wet going. Under a well-rated frontrunning steer, Starwisp should prove too hard to gun down. Best Bet Race 4 – #4 Starwisp (3) 3yo Gelding | T: Leon & Troy Corstens | J: Jack Hill (60kg) $2.80 with Bet365 Next Best at Werribee – Tapo Tapo hardly knows how to run a poor race, finishing in the top three in all of her eight starts since her debut run. With two wins from four runs this campaign, she is a genuine frontrunner and showed at Echuca two runs back the she can handle a rain-affected deck. The step back to the 1010m looks ideal, and with Rose Hammond on board claiming 3kg, Tapo will be running her rivals ragged out in front. Next Best Race 7 – #10 Tapo (3) 3yo Filly | T: Gwenda Johnstone | J: Rose Hammond (a3) (55.5kg) $6 with Palmerbet Best Value at Werribee – Furosshi The Jackie Beriman-trained Furosshi steps out in maiden company upon her return and strikes the easiest race she has faced in her three-start career. The filly chased home the smart Remedies on debut, before being beaten 2.5 lengths by De Sonic Boom in the Blue Diamond Preview, and then was beaten under two lengths by Maharba in the Listed Talindert Stakes. First-up on a wet track is a touch concerning, but she brings a bit of class to this. With the step back in grade, Furosshi can settle close to the speed and put her rivals away at a nice price with the best betting sites. Best Value Race 1 – #13 Furosshi (9) 2yo Filly | T: Jackie Beriman | J: Blake Shinn (56kg) $12 with Unibet Sunday quaddie tips for Werribee races Werribee quadrella selections Sunday, June 25, 2023 1-3-5-7 1-3-4-7-8 3-6-10 1-5-6-17 Investment: $240 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
