Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted June 24, 2023 Journalists Posted June 24, 2023 In what was billed as a two-horse race, it was TWO PHIL'S (Hard Spun–Mia Torri, by General Quarters) who got redemption for his runner-up finish last time out in the GI Kentucky Derby with a win Saturday in Thistledown's GIII Ohio Derby. Positioned just off the speed of longshot Henry Q (Blame), the Larry Rivelli trainee waited for Bishops Bay (Uncle Mo) to make the first move around the turn before pouncing with his own, swinging three wide past the dueling pair to take command turning for home. Much the best late, he hit the wire geared down ahead of Bishops Bay in the final time of 1:49.60. Lifetime Record: 10-5-2-1. O- Patricia's Hope LLC, Phillip Sagan and Madaket Stables LLC; B-Phillip Sagan; T-Larry Rivelli. Sales History: $150,000 RNA ylg KEESEP.
