Entries for New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2023 Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds are now open, with the Sale set to be held at the Karaka Sales Centre on 22 and 23 November.

With a reputation like no other, NZB’s Ready to Run Sale is renowned for being the leading horses in training sale globally. The Sale continues to be held in the highest regard by agents, trainers and buyers and is a trusted source for many global industry participants.

Two graduates of the Sale in Lucky Sweynesse and Golden Sixty currently sit second equal on the Longines World’s Best Racehorse rankings for their dominating performances in Hong Kong.

The ongoing success on the racetrack by graduates has seen an increased buyer demand globally at Karaka for two-year-olds prepared by New Zealand’s expert horsemen and women.

As a result, the 2022 Sale turnover of more than $25 million was up 23% on the year prior and was 60% more than the closest Australian competitor equivalent sale with only 14% more horses catalogued.

The record average of $129,000 at the 2022 Ready to Run Sale was also a clear 20% more than the closest Australian competitor sale average.

In addition, NZB’s Ready to Run graduates have claimed 23 Group One accolades and 102 stakes wins in the last five seasons. Compared with four Group One wins and 61 stakes wins for Australian two-year-old sale graduates combined during that same term.

NZB’s Managing Director Andrew Seabrook reflected on the incredible results on the track and in the sale ring.

“It is an outstanding feat to have five Group One winners and 14 stakes winners from the Sale this season alone,” he said.

“It is the perfect formulation of quality horses, expert preparers and the New Zealand environment that just keep producing top line horses.”

“We look forward to welcoming back all of our international and domestic buyers to Karaka in November where bookings for the hotel are already filling up,” he commented.

This year’s Breeze Ups will take place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 October at Te Rapa  where all horses catalogued have the opportunity to gallop prior to the entering the auction ring, whilst being timed and filmed for buyer analysis.
