The seven-year-old smacked his rivals in a BM120 during the Warrnambool May Racing Carnival and then went to Sandown and put 12 lengths on the field in The Australian Chase. Will Gordon will have him stalking the speed throughout, and when asked for an effort approaching the home turn, Tolemac should be putting away this field and stamping his authority. Next Best Race 6 – #5 Tolemac (6) 7yo Gelding | T: Symon Wilde | J: Will Gordon (68kg) $2.40 with Neds Best Value at Warrnambool: Dashing Willoughby Dashing Willoughby has had a rough time of it since arriving in Australia as a Melbourne Cup chance in 2020 and is now competing in his third-straight maiden hurdle. Two runs back he was 3.25 lengths off Sydney Cup placegetter True Marvel when second at Hamilton, before running into a smart jumper at the Warrnambool 3200m on June 18. He returns to the track and trip for this and will be forced to race up on speed from his wide barrier. The seven-year-old has race fitness on his side and jumps experience over odds-on favourite Le Baol, so there is some value about him.
