First Race 12:12pm AEST

Visit Ladbrokes

The $100,000 Rockhampton Newmarket headlines an eight-race card at Callaghan Park this Friday afternoon. The track is currently rated a Soft 7, but with very little rain and warm drying weather on the forecast for Thursday and Friday, there is a decent chance the track can get to a Soft 5 by race day. The rail will be in the +2.5m position for the entire circuit, with racing set to kick off at 12:12pm AEST.

Rockhampton Newmarket Tip: Enterprise Pomme

Steven O’Dea & Matthew Hoysted showed the opinion they have of Enterprise Pomme when they entered her into the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic last start. In her third run at Listed level, this daughter of Spill The Beans got trapped four wide for the entire trip from barrier 12 and battled on to finish ninth – only beaten by 3.4 lengths. This is a big drop in class and she gets into the race well with only 54kg on her back. Cejay Graham will have her first ride on this four-year-old mare, and if she can push forward and settle in the first three or four, Enterprise Pomme will be very hard to run down.

Best Bet at Rockhampton: Boho Beauty

The Toby & Trent Edmonds-trained Boho Beauty broke through for her first win since November last year at this track over 1300m on June 25. The four-year-old mare pushed forward from a wide barrier to take up the lead before kicking clear with 300m to go, defeating Goldschlager by 2.3 lengths. On Friday, this daughter of Spirit Of Boom will meet a few of her rivals from that race, but this time she will rise 2kg in the weights. If Martin Harley can adopt similar tactics to last start, we should see Boho Beauty record back-to-back wins for the third time in her career.

Race 6 – Silk #2 Boho Beauty (9)

Next Best at Rockhampton: Immoral

Immoral, out of the Tony Gollan yard, returns from a six-week freshen after finishing fifth at the Sunshine Coast in a Benchmark 65 Handicap over 1000m. This four-year-old gelding will drop back from metropolitan to provincial grade for the third time in his career, seeking to record his third win at this level. Angela Jones will have her first ride on this son of Deep Field, and if she can have him settled in the middle of the pack and get him into clear air with 400m to go, Immoral will go very close.
