Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 11, 2023 Journalists Share Posted July 11, 2023 What Sandown Lakeside Races Where Sandown Racecourse – 591-659 Princes Hwy, Springvale VIC 3171 When Wednesday, July 12, 2023 First Race 12:25pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Racing returns to the Lakeside track at Sandown on Wednesday afternoon for eight races at metropolitan level. With clear skies forecast throughout the week in Melbourne, we expect an upgrade from the current Soft 6 rating to a Soft 5. The rail comes out 6m the entire trip, with the action getting underway at 12:25pm AEST. Best Bet at Sandown: Time Quest It was hard to not be impressed by Time Quest’s win on a Heavy 8 at the Sandown Lakeside 1600m on June 28, and he will be tough to beat at the same track and trip on Wednesday. The Time Test gelding has two wins and three seconds to his name from five starts and looks to be a horse going places. The four-year-old should appreciate the Soft going, and with a strong tempo expected throughout, the race looks perfectly set up for Time Quest to unleash a strong finishing burst once again. Best Bet Race 8 – #10 Time Quest (11) 4yo Gelding | T: Matthew Smith | J: Craig Newitt (59kg) $2.50 with PlayUp Next Best at Sandown: Ellen’s Licence Ellen’s Licence returned from a 29-week spell with a dominant on-speed victory at Donald on June 17. The four-year-old managed to settle outside leader on that day and was quick to put her rivals away by a space. She comes to a metro-grade BM70 for fillies and mares and, following Luke Campbell’s 2kg claim, gets in perfectly with 58.5kg on her back. Look for Campbell to have her up on speed from barrier eight outside of Star Mistress in what looks to be a winnable race. Next Best Race 3 – #3 Ellen’s Licence (8) 4yo Mare | T: Patrick Payne | J: Luke Campbell (a2) (60.5kg) $2.60 with Boombet Best Value at Sandown: The Guava Patrick Payne and Billy Egan are set to combine again with The Guava in the second leg of the quaddie. The three-year-old was lipped out at Swan Hill on June 11 in a blanket finish over 1200m and well and truly has his hoof on the till. With three consecutive seconds to his name, he brings some strong form to a decent BM64 field. From barrier two, Egan will need a touch of luck to get off the rails, but The Guava has a strong turn of foot and will get his chance if good enough. Best Value Race 6 – #5 The Guava (2) 3yo Gelding | T: Patrick Payne | J: Billy Egan (60kg) $12 with Unibet Wednesday quaddie tips for Sandown races Sandown quadrella selections Wednesday, July 12, 2023 1-2-6-7-10 1-5-6-12 3-5-6-7-15 10 Investment: $100 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
