Pakenham synthetic betting tips

What Pakenham Synthetic Races
Where Pakenham Racing Club – 420 Nar Nar Goon–Longwarry Rd, Tynong VIC 3813
When Thursday, July 20, 2023
First Race 1pm AEST

Visit Ladbrokes

The Pakenham Racing Club will host a very competitive eight-race card on its synthetic track this Thursday afternoon. There is a good amount of rain forecast for Thursday, so we could see a fair bit of kickback during the meeting. The rail will be in the true position, with the first race set to jump at 1pm AEST.

Best Bet at Pakenham: Nokhbah

Nokhbah was heavily backed into odds-on when she made her long-awaited debut at Geelong on June 16. Unfortunately for her owners, she was nabbed in the final 50m by Kingwell after overdoing it a little in the lead. This four-year-old mare was a dominant six-length trial winner over 1000m before making her debut, so the drop back from 1135m to 1000m on Thursday should suit. Jumping from barrier four under Billy Egan, Nokhbah can lead every step of the way to break her maiden as long as she jumps well.

Best Bet

Race 3 – silks#9 Nokhbah (4)

4yo Mare | T: Ben & JD Hayes | J: Billy Egan (57.5kg)

$1.55 with PlayUp

Next Best at Pakenham: Suppose I Do

The John Allen-trained Suppose I Do broke his maiden in fine style last start at this track and trip on June 20, defeating Rich Lover by just over a neck. The three-year-old gelding has been given a tick-over trial on the Pakenham synthetic over 750m, where he let down nicely in the final 200m to finish third. Barrier 14 shouldn’t be too much of a worry for Ben Allen, as he can sit in the three-wide line and avoid some kick-back in the second half of the field before unleashing this guy’s blistering turn of foot.

Next Best

Race 7 – silks#6 Suppose I Do (14)

3yo Gelding | T: John Allen | J: Ben Allen (59kg)

$7.50 with Boombet

Next Best Again at Pakenham: Been Our Angel

Tony & Calvin McEvoy will send their two-year-old colt Been Our Angel to Pakenham for his debut over 1000m, after winning a jump-out at St Arnaud on July 3 over 900m. Earlier on in the year, this son of Harry Angel won two trials over 850m – including one on the Pakenham synthetic, where he was eased down in the final 50m and recorded an easy four-length win. Madison Lloyd will have done a fair bit of work on this youngster, and we expect Been Our Angel to jump well, lead and give us a great sight out in front.

Next Best Again

Race 4 – silks#1 Been Our Angel (8)

2yo Colt | T: Tony & Calvin McEvoy | J: Madison Lloyd (58kg)

$4.40 with Betfair
