The new Goffs British NH Breeders Showcase Sale for selected NH Foals, to be held at Doncaster on Friday Nov. 3, will feature a pre-sale NH Foal Show that will honour two figures from the British NH breeding world.

The NH Colts class will pay tribute to Richard Aston from Goldford Stud, who passed away in April. Aston ran the Cheshire stud alongside his wife Sally and was a breeder and consignor who regularly topped the NH Foal and NH Store Sales at Doncaster.

The NH Fillies class will honour Robert Chugg of Little Lodge Farm. Chugg, who died in 2022, was considered, “a master of the one-liner” and operated the Worcestershire stud with his wife Jackie. The pair were leading vendors at the NH Foal and NH Store Sales in Doncaster and also nurtured some wonderful runners.

“It is extremely fitting that the Goffs team have chosen to honour two such stalwart British NH breeders as Richard Aston and Robert Chugg at the forthcoming NH Foal Show, which is a part of a new initiative to showcase the very best of British NH Breeding at Doncaster in November,” Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent said.

Henry Beeby, Goffs Group Chief Executive added, “For as long as I can remember Richard and Robert were leading the way at Doncaster NH sales and the success of DBS, now Goffs UK, would not have been possible without them.”
