Unfortunately she's always doing it....

If you want to see ILLEGAL riding...I.e. Left handlebar down...when you're in the trail and pocketed on the turn....pushing 4 horses out...from their RIGHTFUL POSITIONS

Its nothing to do with 'COMPETITIVE'....

Not only does it cause injury to other horses...but it's highly dangerous wrt other jockeys...especially inexperienced Apps...

So what did the Feds decide to do...10 meeting suspension for careless riding??

Na...a f in Warning ffs....

Read it and weep

D Johnson (ANNIE OKAY) Issued with a warning after shifting out passing the 450 metres forcing TAV IT UP, BIRDIE BLITZ, BLUSHING HEIGHTS and THEONLYWAY wider on the track.

Seriously gee...get a grip

Danny had the left handle bar down so much...

...that her mounts head was turned sideways as she dragged the bit through its moosh

...screwing up 4 other horse's chances...

Our Stipes are clueless when it comes to safety....

...and have accepted unquestioned...

...the crap that is 'COMPETITIVE' riding

Its against the rules and she should have been charged with CARELESS at the very least...

I would have given her a RECKLESS charge

Have a look at one of her rides a few weeks ago at Matamata, she was advised to take more care, she carried the horses inside of her across toward the fence once turning for home, a warning, if she had of bought horses down it would have been a vastly different outcome. Never forget, one famous jockey of the past, Malcolm Johnstone was the most suspended jockey in Oz racing history, he caused a horrific fall one day and was subsequently sued by the jockey that was badly injured, Malcolm lost, and it cost him plenty, plenty.....it finished Mal, so, of course in NZ suing for damages is forbidden ground, FFS.......if you, like any other developed country, had a legal system to litigate through the civil courts for injury through incompetence or malpractice then jockey's would think twice if they knew it [dangerous/reckless riding] could cost them their homes, or more. IMO.

Too true...

This case Is very similar to the Oliver case of 2 years ago....

Danielle is very "cavalier"...always has been...and always will be with our weak az Stipes...

...who're are wayyy to 'pally welly' with everyone...

VCAT vice-president Judge Pamela Jenkins is hearing submissions on penalty on Monday with Oliver hoping to have his 20-meeting suspension reduced.

Oliver was outed over his ride on eventual winner Flying Artie in the Blue Sapphire Stakes on October 12, when he angled out from behind the leader and made heavy contact with the horse to his outside.

The judge said Oliver’s actions were calculated and intentional, and had created a clear circumstance of potential risk.

“In my view, the applicant exhibited a cavalier attitude, which is not moderated by his explanation to the effect that jockeys will commonly try to take another horse out, notwithstanding the rules,” Jenkins said.

“The applicant, as a very experienced professional jockey, is aware of the attendant dangers of placing another jockey at risk of falling and the consequential danger to other riders and horses where a fall occurs in front of a field of riders.

“By forcing his mount into the pathway of another jockey and abruptly displacing that jockey and his mount out of the way, the applicant displayed a reckless indifference to the possible grave consequences.”

Jenkins said Oliver displayed a cavalier attitude to the rules of racing, the paramount objectives of which were to ensure the safety of horse and rider.

“If riders continue to test the boundaries in the hope of defying the clear and attendant risks associated with a particular course of action, then the integrity of the rules are undermined and the safety of riders and horses alike become victims of the pursuit of competitive advantage.” Oliver needs his suspension cut from 20 to 17 meetings to allow him to ride on Saturday, when he has rides booked on Flying Artie in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and Highlad in the Group 1 Victoria Derby.

Good point Vanturk. And neither is NZTR, which is responsible for the rules and their enforcement in accord with the legislation.
