Wet Paint (f, 3, Blame–Sky Painter, by Street Cry {Ire}), the beaten GI Kentucky Oaks favorite this spring, returned to the winner's enclosure splattered in Saratoga dirt but also as a newly-crowned Grade I victress after a determined performance in the GI Coaching Club American Oaks. In her customary spot near the rear of the field for the lion's portion of the race, she produced the kick which carried her to three listed and graded stakes victories earlier this year, and caught the equally gutsy Sacred Wish (Not This Time) on the wire. Favorited Gambling Girl (Dialed In) claimed third. The final time was 1:50.68
