Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted July 26, 2023 Journalists Share Posted July 26, 2023 What Echuca Races Where Echuca Racecourse – Cr Scott Rd and Murray Valley Hwy, Echuca VIC 3564 When Friday, July 28, 2023 First Race 12:30pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Echuca Racing Club will be the destination for Victorian country racing this Friday afternoon, with a very competitive nine-race card lined up. The track is currently rated a Soft 5; however, with a fair amount of rain forecast for Echuca on Friday, expect to see a downgrade at some stage. The rail will be in the true position for the entire circuit, with the action set to kick off at 12:30pm AEST. Echuca Best Bet: Glitzing Danny O’Brien will be looking to repeat the dose when he brings his three-year-old filly Glitzing back to the track where she broke her maiden on July 1. This daughter of Starspangledbanner jumped well and travelled on the speed before kicking clear on the home bend to record a comfortable one-length victory over Three Jacks. With Liam Riordan retaining the ride, he will likely look to settle in the first two as Glitzing pushes for a second win from three career starts. Best Bet Race 9 – #12 Glitzing (6) 3yo Filly | T: Danny O’Brien | J: Liam Riordan (57kg) Bet with Boombet Next Best Bet at Echuca: Outwitted The James Cummings-trained Outwitted was beaten by Mollynickers and runner-up Robrick at Moe last start over 1208m. Both of those horses raced at Caulfield last Saturday, with Mollynickers winning again in fine style. This two-year-old returned as a gelding this preparation and has finished in the top four in both starts at Geelong and Moe. The son of Sidestep has been working in blinkers and they will be applied on Friday, indicating he is ready to run a big race as he steps up to 1400m for the first time. Next Best Race 3 – #12 Outwitted (5) 2yo Gelding | T: James Cummings | J: Jordan Childs (57kg) Bet with Neds Best Value Bet at Echuca: Toojay El Cordobes was given an eight-week freshen after an underwhelming performance at this track on June 1, when he was sent around as race favourite with most online bookmakers and finished ninth of 11. This son of All Too Hard has good form from his last two racing preparations, where he finished third behind Hennessy Lad at Sandown and second behind Jimmy The Bear at Moonee Valley. If the Danny O’Brien-trained galloper can recapture some of that competitive metropolitan form, he should prove hard to beat here. Best Value Race 7 – #5 El Cordobes (5) 4yo Gelding | T: Danny O’Brien | J: Liam Riordan (59.5kg) Bet with Palmerbet Friday quaddie numbers for Echuca Echuca quadrella selections Friday, July 28, 2023 2-6-8-9 2-3-5-9 1-3-4-11 3-10-12 Investment: $192 for 100% More horse racing news View the full article
