Wyong is the destination for NSW racing on Thursday afternoon with eight races lined up. The rail is out +3m the entire circuit, and with no rain forecast on Monday or Tuesday, the surface should be declared somewhere in the Good range. The first race is set to kick things off at 12:25pm AEST.

Best Bet: Fire Star

Fire Star is set to make his debut for the Peter & Paul Snowden yard on Thursday afternoon – and based on his barrier trials, he looks very hard to beat. His latest jump-out at Rosehill on July 21 particularly caught the eye when leading from the outset to clear out on his rivals by three lengths. This Deep Field colt is also dual-accepted for a race at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday; however, if the team elects to head here, Fire Star should hold favouritism and be very difficult to chase down.

Next Best: Zarrose

Zarrose ran into a very smart type in the form of Howgoodareyou on debut at Hawkesbury on July 9. She powered into the runner-up spot on that occasion after drawing the widest of seven runners, storming up the inside rail to produce some strong closing sectionals. Jockey Andrew Adkins can sit much closer this time from barrier three, and provided he can put Zarrose in striking distance turning for home, she looks likely to break her maiden status second-up.

Next Best Again: Boston Rocks

Boston Rocks resumed with a dominant win at Gosford on July 13, sitting outside the leader throughout the 1000m journey to get home by 2.8 lengths. That win was made even more impressive considering the three-year-old lost an off-fore plate somewhere in the running. Expect jockey Ashley Morgan to head forward once again, and while this second-up task is much tougher, we’re confident Boston Rocks can chalk up back-to-back wins.
