Journalists Wandering Eyes Posted August 5, 2023 Journalists Share Posted August 5, 2023 What Ballarat Races Where Ballarat Turf Club – 240 Kennedys Rd, Miners Rest VIC 3352 When Monday, August 7, 2023 First Race 1:30pm AEST Visit Ladbrokes Racing heads to the synthetic track at Ballarat for the second time in three days with a competitive seven-race program set down for decision. Clear skies are forecast, so we anticipate the track to play fairly throughout the day on Monday. The first race is set to jump at 1:30pm AEST. Best Bet at Ballarat: Khangai The Michael Kent-trained Khangai fought on well when finishing third at the Pakenham synthetic meeting on July 20 and can build on that effort here. The now five-year-old was forced to work to settle outside the lead and didn’t get to catch a breather until the final 900m. He draws to do no work to find a spot from barrier four under Billy Egan and if he finds the one-one or even outside lead upon settling, Khangai should prove too good for maiden company. Best Bet Race 3 – #5 Khangai (4) 5yo Gelding | T: Michael Kent | J: Billy Egan (57kg) $2.50 with PlayUp Next Best at Ballarat: Jaz Tycoon We like what we saw from the Greg Eurell-trained Jaz Tycoon on debut at Pakenham and we think he can break maiden grade at start two. The Written Tycoon gelding simply got too far back upon settling, but once asked to quicken was taking off good ground from the eventual placegetters. The race quickly falls away outside of the market fancies in this and if Billy Egan can have Jaz Tycoon in striking distance on the turn, his turn of foot looks to be enough to account for this lot. Next Best Race 5 – #6 Jaz Tycoon (7) 4yo Gelding | T: Greg Eurell | J: Billy Egan (59.5kg) $2.30 with Boombet Best Value at Ballarat: Factually In the final race of the day, we are confident Charles Cassar’s Factually can break a run of placings and salute over 1000m. The mare finished three lengths off Snappy Magnus who she meets again on Monday, this time 5.5kg better at the weights. Jaylah Kennedy will use barrier one and her 2kg claim to her advantage and have this The Factor mare bounding along out in front. Third-up from a spell, Factually should be cherry ripe. Best Value Race 7 – #5 Factually (1) 5yo Mare | T: Charles Cassar | J: Jaylah Kennedy (a2) (59kg) $15 with Bet365 Monday quaddie tips for Ballarat synthetic races Ballarat quadrella selections Monday, August 7, 2023 2-3-4 6-8 1-3-5 1-2-5-6 Investment: $72 for 100% More horse racing tips View the full article
