A drop in class has True Confessions well placed at Addington on Sunday.

The trotter has taken on two bigger targets recently and though she finished out of the money both times, trainer Tom Bagrie has been pleased with her efforts.

After racing in a Winter Rewards Final and then the Darren DeFilippi Memorial, race 4 on Sunday looks a much easier assignment.

“We chucked her in the deep end in the Darren DeFilippi and the Winter Rewards Final,” Bagrie said.

“She went solid races for her, we were quite happy with the way she performed even though she was out of the placings.”

“Comparatively, Jimmy Carter has won about the same amount of races as she has started in.”

“She was a little bit outclassed but she steps back to a race she should be pretty competitive in on Sunday.”

True Confession opened at $6.50 odds in race 4’s fixed odds market.

Playing With Stars gives Bagrie a good chance of taking out the next race on the Addington card.

The three-year-old comes into the 2000m standing start event after only going down narrowly in her last two second placings.

“She won her maiden and it took her three starts to find her feet in that grade.”

“She tries her heart out and always puts in.”

“So long as she can step away, she should go another good race.”

“She is one that doesn’t have to rely on too much luck, she is tough enough to do a bit of work.”

Playing With Stars opened at $8.50 odds in race 5’s fixed odds market.

Sue’s Dash looks the roughie among the Bagrie team

The trotter brings patchy form to race 7.

“We have been trying a few things and we have been disappointed with her lately.”

“She is not one we are saying to go out and back.”

“We are trying to get her form back and hoping she can run a better race this week.”

Sue’s Dash was rated a $12 shot on market opening for race 7.
