The rail is out +5m from the 1000m to the winning post, while the remainder is out +3m for the meeting. As of Monday, the track condition is listed as a Good 4, and although there are some showers predicted prior to race-day, we don’t expect a downgrade for the opening race at 1:25pm AEST. Best Bet at Warwick Farm: Xtravagant Star Formerly trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy, Xtravagant Star is set to make her debut for the newly appointed Ciaron Maher & David Eustace barn. It’s been 15 weeks off the scene for the four-year-old mare after a three-year-old campaign that left a lot to be desired. She’s returned in supreme order, however, with two outstanding jump-outs leading into Wednesday. She needs to recapture her two-year-old peak of winning the Inglis Millennium, and based on what we’ve seen, we’ll take the chance she can find her best first-up. Best Bet Race 4 – #1 Xtravagant Star (9) 4yo Mare | T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace | J: James McDonald (60.5kg) $4.50 with PlayUp Next Best at Warwick Farm: Marquess It’s been 325 days since Marquess faced the starter, and the way he ended his previous campaign with back-to-back wins, it’s easy to see why online bookmakers will side with this progressive son of Tavistock. Upon resumption, Marquess has produced two terrific barrier trials, with the latest seeing James McDonald keep the gelding under a stranglehold going through the line at Warwick Farm on July 24. Marquess clearly has the most upside in this field, and he must be considered the one to beat. Next Best Race 6 – #9 Marquess (10) 5yo Gelding | T: James Cummings | J: James McDonald (57kg) $3.20 with Neds Next Best at Warwick Farm: Real Peace Real Peace has been ultra-consistent in his three starts this preparation, with his latest catching the eye at Randwick on July 29. He was set a mighty task from near-last turning for home on that occasion, almost weaving a passage to claim victory. A much better barrier (6) this time should ensure a more economical run throughout the 1600m this time, and with some luck due to fall his way, Real Peace is deserving to bring up his fifth career win.
