When Sunday, August 13, 2023
First Race 11:15am AEST

Visit Ladbrokes

Racing heads to the Moe Racing Club on Sunday afternoon, with a bumper 10-race program set down for decision. The track has come up a Soft 6, while the rail sticks to the true position throughout the entire circuit. A big day of racing is set to commence at 11:15am AEST.

Best Bet at Moe: Skywriter

We were with Chris Waller’s Skywriter on her return at Geelong, where she was defeated by the barest possible margin. The four-year-old has three minor placings in four starts and is more than deserving of a maiden win. She draws barrier one on Sunday under Jordan Childs, and as long as she does not get held up for a run at a crucial point, Skywriter should prove a touch too good for maiden company this time around.

Best Bet

Race 3 – silks #13 Skywriter (1)

4yo Mare | T: Chris Waller | J: Jordan Childs (57.5kg)

$3 with Bet365

Next Best at Moe: Indented Head

The Phillip Stokes-trained Indented Head has been competitive in BM64 races when not beaten far, so a step back to BM58 should see her return to the winner’s stall. The five-year-old mare has not won in over a year, but with a preference for rain-affected decks, she looks to have struck a winnable event. From barrier nine, Daniel Moor will look to land the one-one or, at worst, outside the leader. From there, Indented Head should prove hard to beat in the last.

Next Best

Race 10 – silks #8 Indented Head (9)

5yo Mare | T: Phillip Stokes | J: Daniel Moor (60kg)

$2.40 with Boombet

Best Value at Moe: Glamdam

Glamdam has been quite disappointing since his upset victory at Sandown three runs back. However, the six-year-old is already a Moe 2050m winner, having tasted success at the track and trip in November 2021, and strikes a winnable race this weekend. The Kermadec mare will get back upon settling, negating her tricky barrier (15), and with enough speed in the race to bring backmarkers into the equation, a swift turn of foot should have Glamdam featuring in the finish.

Best Value

Race 6 – St Malo silks #2 Glamdam (15)

6yo Mare | T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young | J: Tom Prebble (a2) (59kg)

$11 with PlayUp
