  1. Tubing is not an illegal practice but a recognised part of the therapeutic tool kit in animal husbandry. I guess soft kill's are easier than hard INCA ones! Next...
  2. Don't disagree however the "woke" make that wider issue a "Racing Issue". Presumably because the Racing Industry exploits horses to make money. Which is no different to any other livestock based industry. Do we "rehome" dairy cows?
  3. Why is a horse a more sentient being than a bobby calf, a cow, a donkey, a deer, a steer, a pig, a duck, a chicken? Vegetarian pets are coming to a store near you!
  4. Yep factual inaccuracies and all the past shyte rolled out again. Sloppy journalism no doubt fed by the usual RIU suspects. But Woodham hasn't been told ANYTHING! http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/125795132/top-amateur-harness-racing-driver-allegedly-administered-substance-on-race-day?cid=app-android
  5. You are no mate of mine and I doubt you have many "mates"!!! So how come you haven't posted it in proper English on your Twitter feed? Isn't it "legit" enough? What have you contributed apart from sexist rubbish and repeated posts demeaning the racing industry many of which were in your view injustices or indiscretions that occurred twenty years ago?!
  6. Which Canine Coronavirus? There are three of them. Will each club be disinfecting and deep cleaning their kennels and staring boxes?
  7. Really? Are you dreaming again that you have a connection to the "Luminary of the British Thoroughbred Industry"? Damning no doubt. Factual most likely not.
  8. I'm not deleting it. I never delete anything however it is hidden. I find it objectionable. Contrary to your agenda the vast majority of people on BOAY support the racing industry. It is becoming more and more evident that you don't. Nearly all of the documentary's I've seen on the Thoroughbred Racing Industry have been extreme, alarmist and factually incorrect. Report back when you have seen it and can comment on its veracity.
  9. A damn sight quicker than it has taken you to forget Kevin Myers indiscretion from 20 years ago.
  10. Echuca meeting transferred Carl Di Iorio@CDi_Iorio 17 July, 2021 (Image: Racing Photos) A saturated Echuca course proper has forced Sunday's Victorian flat meeting to be shifted to the state's Wimmera district. Racing Victoria, in conjunction with the Echuca Racing Club, advised on Saturday afternoon that the meeting would be held at Warracknabeal. Echuca Racecourse had received 24mm since Tuesday, which included 10mm of rain that fell overnight. RV stewards inspected the course on Saturday before deeming the track unsuitable for racing with further rain forecast. There are several distance and field-size changes because of the meeting transfer to Warracknabeal, with all three maiden races to be held over 1200 metres while there have been distance amendments to two of the four 0-58 handicaps on the seven-race card. Scratchings have been reinstated, with trainers having until 7:30am on Sunday to scratch from the meeting.
  11. I see inside 24 hours to start time Victoria Racing shifted the Echuca meeting to Warracknabeal. Sure not a Premier meeting but still 7 races with each race either $25,000 or $23,900 for a total of $170,600. They announced the shift during the day yesterday due to weather/track conditions at Echuca and texted, twittered, emailed and rang all participants. All during a lockdown in Melbourne! What excuses would we get in NZ? "We can't find a driver for the Broadcast Van". "We don't have time to shift the antiquated tote machines". "Transport issues shifting the Tote staff". "We can't dismantle and move the new state of the art easily transported on a special truck barriers". "The sausage roll warmer is hard wired and takes 36 hours to warm up".
  12. Enough of this shyte Thomarse.
  13. Well instead of going on and on about these things that often date back 20 years or more why don't you hammer the RIU/RIB and NZTR? Preferably BEFORE you go public and publicise to every work do-gooder!
  14. No he reviewed the treatment given to the horse and discovered that environmental contamination may not have been the cause.
  15. @Thomasshave you filed an information with the RIU?
  16. But "investing" the assets somewhere else to earn money to fund stakes is just a more sophisticated way of using NZRB reserves to fund stakes while not investing in industry wide infrastructure. Now no doubt I'll be accused of being negative but if the largest number of horses are being trained on an AWT at Cambridge for racing at Cambridge and Ellerslie isn't that a rather narrow vision for the industry? One that doesn't promote growth, market reach nor utilises our core advantages particularly our horse friendly pasture/turf based environments. Is a Hong Kong closed system where horses are sourced from other parts of the world (predominantly NZ) as yearlings, broken in (here in NZ) and sometimes tried before export, then exported to Hong Kong and stabled for the rest of their racing lives very rarely galloping on a paddock again, the type of system we want in NZ?
  17. Yes procedurally and substantively Baffert has a strong case. Sooner or later someone with big pockets will challenge our own racing administration AGAIN!
  18. Doing the numbers on this it doesn't add up unless NZTR redirects a substantial amount of funds to Ellerslie AND they get ALL of Avondales assets. As it is they need Avondale to race on while they build the Strathayr. Once they build that it is all a dead end. Plus Strathayr tracks still need time out each year AND major renovation on a cyclical basis.
  19. So you are putting your hand up to be banned under that criteria?
  20. @Thomass either withdraw your sexist pig comments and apologise or fuck off.
  21. They are dwindling.
  22. Can anyone think of a business that has to subsidise its core business from unrelated activities for it to survive?
