  1. Because you are talking incoherent crap. I sense a pattern here. If it was you that raised this topic first you would be all over it like a rash. Now back to the topic. Is there or is there not a rule that you can't pass the jockey anything? Or is NZ still in amateur hour? You wouldn't get away with it in AUS.

  10. Does it matter who and why? You are the great rule follower. What transpired is against the rules is it not? My understanding is a Stipe was notified and it was brushed off.
  11. Go for it Thomass. I'm sure you have a direct hot line.

  15. Editor – After another amazing Group One performance by Melody Belle last Saturday, surely she must be our Horse of the Year for this season? I feel sorry for the connections of Madison County and Danzdanzdance, who would have had a heck of a case for the title if their excellent performances had been last […] Want to read this content? 17. A week ago the racing industry was reacting to the news that the Waikato Racing Club was pulling back from a possible Greenfield project to modernise the regional racing landscape. Various reactions were expressed, the majority of them disappointment that a way forward also involving the Cambridge and Waipa clubs could not be found. A week later that has all changed, the result of sensible minds getting around the table to talk things through and come to a resolution. In this case it takes the form of a Heads of Agreement signed between the three parties, clearing the way for a feasibility study and ongoing negotiations with the aim of enhancing racing in the region and in the ultimate outcome, the national landscape. Tomorrow morning (Friday) racing clubs, stakeholders and interested parties in the Waikato-Bay of Plenty region have been invited to a New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing-convened venue strategy meeting at the Matamata racecourse. In the first instance the hope is that all clubs and kindred bodies will be represented in what is another opportunity to engage as the racing industry attempts a restructuring intended to secure its future. Other similar meetings around the country have already taken place or are scheduled in the near future, all with the same theme. Whether these meetings of minds are a cross roads, a T-intersection or an S-bend that’s difficult to negotiate, only time will tell. Excuse the metaphors, but what it can’t be is a dead-end road, one with no outcome, because there is no turning back. View the full article

  19. With the chair’s castors wobbling a bit as it copes with this latest, and perhaps last, lashing of Winx mania, I have decided to change the batting order this week. We’ll have a quiz and share a few moments remembering one of the most colourful and beloved Australian race-callers of the 20th century; Bert Bryant, […] Want to read this content? 20. I was really disappointed to read that the Waikato Racing Club had withdrawn its support for the proposed Greenfields Plan, which was slated to build a state-of-the-art racing facility for the Waikato region by utilising the resources of the Waikato, Cambridge and Waipa clubs.
