  12. Page 73 of Messara's Report. It is inferred that was stated by GRNZ.
  13. Because we don't pay for the upkeep at some strange sounding name racecourse in the Aussie outback.
  14. Yep but everyone knew that! No surprises! Which reminds me as a member of the local Harrier club we used to train round that course. Plus my favourite cross country race of the year was the Omoto Steeplechase (for humans not horses!). Colman Creagh (ex-raceday starter for gallopers!), Eddie Grey, Dave McKenzie all used to run that in their day. 16 fences a lap!
  15. Are you Greyhound guys happy to have only 3 tracks to race on?
  16. True. But it has been like that since I was a kid helping Dad paint fences! I used to run round the track - firm to the top of the hill and a deep bog all the way down to the top of the home straight.
  17. See! International punters should be grateful - every horse has a chance!
  18. All good Reefton. ?
  19. Back to the topic....will the closing of those tracks targeted affect harness racing? What if they change Section 16 and reduce the share of TAB revenue that currently goes to harness?
  20. I wasn't attacking the remaining tracks just pointing out the hypocrisy. Hokitika has been OK since 1884. Whey does it need to be changed?
  21. Well I remember looking at Christian Cullen and I'd swear he was sired by a thoroughbred!
  22. One thing you have to remember Newmarket is that the West Coast is very territorial! Note how Reefton called Hokitika "Westland"? There are four or five "provinces" on the West Coast!!
  23. What's your definition of "decent course" Reefton? Can't be Te Rapa or Ellerslie or Awapuni......
  24. Oh the irony - do the people that attend these meetings look "old, stale and pale"?
  25. No not at all. I'm just saying it stay however if it ends up as a souped up trials circuit then that is an option. The unfortunate gotcha hiding in the authorities cabinet of tricks is Health and Safety. They could force so many requirements on the clubs that they'll struggle to fund them.
