  1. Further to this, Lisa Cole as the trainer should be charged by the RIU under rule 19.7.

19.7 If a Greyhound is Nominated for or races in a Race for which such Greyhound is not eligible, the Nominator of such Greyhound shall be liable to a fine of up to $100 for each Offence and such Greyhound shall be Disqualified from its original placing and all Prize Money earned and any Nomination fees paid shall be forfeited.  Where such Greyhound is Disqualified, the Club shall make the appropriate placings of the other Greyhounds affected accordingly.

87.7 The Trainer shall have the sole power of Nomination, entry or withdrawal of a Greyhound

  2. Seems Above All was exported to Australia sometime before 07/09/2014 as that is the date of his first start overseas.

His final recorded race was on 16/04/2016, still in Australia.

02/06/2016 (6 weeks after his final start), according to James Bond's supplied link is the day it was reported in NZ that he had passed-away.

So unless Above All had been transferred back to NZ, straws drawn here, then transferred back to Australia for his operation, then his offspring should not be allowed to contest in the sires produce race, as per the race conditions.

Does Above All's offspring deserve the chance? Well I believe there couldn't be a bigger YES, but the conditions would need to be changed prior to nominations being opened.

Another instance of short-sightedness by GRNZ.

Fast Archer, Dream Collector, American Warrior, tick.

    Above All, unfortunately no.

"For greyhounds from a service performed by a NZ based stud dog"

All About Space, sire Above All, had 2 starts in Nz before owners sent to Australia,( good move) The dog raced there the rest of his illustrious career. Seman  was sent back to NZ. Does this make him a NZ based sire.

    Not in my opinion

    Spot on Goldstar.

"For greyhounds from a service performed by a NZ based stud dog"

The conditions do not say something such as...

    • "For greyhounds from a service performed by a NZ reared stud dog"
    • "For greyhounds from a service performed by a NZ owned stud dog"

So unfortunately, due to the conditions, Above All should be out but the Fast Archers or Dream Collectors (etc, etc) should be included.

Is  Sam a accomplice or accessory to the crime

Sam is live baiting in the photo's I've seen.

Lisa was the trainer of record when the images were acquired, why hasn't she been charged by the RIU?

If the Board or RIU thought they could cover all this up, they would be. The SPCA & Newshub have made sure this isn't covered up like it has been in the past....

Sam Lozell is a different kettle of fish as he should not have a trainers Licence at present..Why has he?

The easiest question to answer in a long time.

Sam has his training licence because GRNZ has an inept Board.

There are 7 seats (votes) on the current board & at least 4 of them had to vote for approval.

The Board a few years ago awarded the "Foxton Fixer" a public training license, after he had first relinquished the license he held at the time, then admitted to a dishonest act (Gibbonator) before the JCA.

The Board approved another training license for D. Stapleton not all that long ago. Public opinion was in an uproar after that decision.

Mike doesn't have any balls to drop...He had a chance here to show us how well he is hung....

Or he was instructed to let it be, because Godber is more incompetent than we thought or is another envelope recipient.

My statement from a few weeks back, but now I am questioning my own words.

Would any of the CD's "little birdies" either in this thread or via PM to myself (so I can bring more out in to the open without a fear of the iron fist) like to comment on what I have heard?

Friday night Wanganui, it sounds as though Brendon was first emptying some dogs off of the track property. A bit later on, he was seen inside of the track property (of which he is warned off), had a bit of a chat with another person, who questioned him as to why he was on the property. I understand from there Mike was made aware of the situation, phoned the new top dog (SW) for advice. SW then went on to phone Godber for advice from even further up the food chain & Godber instructed them to just let things be, as he was to meet with Mario the next day or two.

If this is indeed fact, then Mike has dropped the ball 100% as he should have addressed the situation on the spot. Being on the property while being warned off is in breach, as far as I recall, of the racing act & the police should have been immediately involved.

  9. The policy is a policy for all LP's.

I do not believe the policy is correct, but that does not matter.

My problem is how the rules & policy's are policed. John was basically castrated because he refused to wear a tie. Deb was run through the ringer over her pants, yet Nathan broke the SAME dress code policy & not even a mention in the Stewards report.

Like I've said many time before, in the greyhound code, it's not what someone may have done it's who they are.

Why did the JCA discount a fine for a serial offender of the same offence?

    http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-riu-v-j-mcinerney-decision-dated-25-may-2019-chair-prof-g-hall

[52] We believe a small reduction in penalty from the figure of $300 that Mr Coppins has submitted, is appropriate for this factor.

[53] Mr McInerney is fined the sum of $200.

Maybe the JCA believes the scales down south know who's dog they are weighing. Why is it that no other trainers dogs are weighed in error by those scales? Connect the dots....

Thats actually not correct. There is a dress code and it should be adhered to. Why should he get away. Look at the Deb saga when she had cargo pants. Racing was nearly brought to a halt

Dress code also states that shirts must be tucked in....

  11. I reckon there should be a dress code for LP's standing on their dog trailer just outside the track.

LP's a liable for what they say on social media when they are numerous miles from any track, so why should " the GRNZ image" be treated any differently?

Yankiwi I think you need to apply for the CEO position

The CEO is not a position which I would excel at. I'm far too much to the point & would be unable to tell the fibs of the Board with a poker face (Welfare is paramount & so on).

A better fit for me would be to run for a seat on the board. There straight talking & being a firm but fair person are qualities that would be very beneficial. I have made a brief inquiry, completely off the record, to have look at the possibilities. Those possibilities I quickly ruled out due to personal circumstances & compensation.

Maybe , Sean Hannan you shouldn't "Progress a New appointment Quickly"   because  your decisions have been dismal  for our sport and this is a Fact!!!    How about  you and your Slack Arse Board just carry on Creaming your justification of the Payments you receive and let the Man who in his own words "Has had his Hands Tied "for a long time,  but has experience!!    "Greg Kerr"   act as Chief Executive ?   Greg while not every ones favourite has had to work under Cheats who we  all knew were sponging.. Give him a few months , let him employ and  nominate a Racing Manager and maybe a Welfare Person from the present ranks (If they are still at Head Office) or of his choice and see how things work out...  Let Go of the RENDLE Influence Hannan if you have any Balls at all Please for the sake of the Sports and our dogs Future..

To be honest, I don't know how Greg has hung on as long as he has.

Imagine going to work everyday with doing the right things in mind, only to be stonewalled each & every time by your superiors...

Finally he gained the position of head of racing & look at all of the things that have been going on since that appointment. Sure Cole has gone on much longer than anyone with morals would like to see, but surely he remains hand-tied in moving forward on that front.

How many other Head of Racings (previously Racing Manager) have taken the RIU on for their wayward decisions & inconsistencies?

Did Leach, Robenya (or what ever her name was) or Holden take on Godber/Whiterod for letting the code fall into disrepute? No, their worlds were one of who you were, not what you did.

I saw Greg's appointment as a potential turning point for the code. Thus far, he has not left me feeling let-down like all of his predecessors had.

  14. The new top team was together at Addington today & their still looking after a Board member.

That #4 dog MARRED the running of the #2.

The Steward opted to charge the dog with FTP, so it can be re-vetted tomorrow & have the stand-down rescinded when it's found to be injured requiring a 21 day stand-down, even after having run out the remainder of the race much stronger than any other dog in the field.

OPAWA HOP (4) - tightened in run to first bend losing ground. Ran outwards back straight. Turned head outwards free of interference home turn and checked outside runners. Assessed by vet and cleared of injury. Stood down for 28 days under Rule 55.1.b. for Failing to Pursue the Lure and must complete Satisfactory Trial.

    The full replay.

Hearing Greyhound Racing NZ CEO Mauro Barsi has been appointed as the new CEO at @AlexandraPark and the Auckland TC. He’s also the Greyhound rep on the (soon-to-be-disbanded ?) NZ Racing Board. Top appointment but walking in to a volatile situation.

Exactly what I had heard (on the quiet) the day the failed lawyer resigned....

Hope he works out better for the trots. He's been useless for several years for the greyhound code.

    Can anyone find Lochinvar Flash?

    image.thumb.png.7de5fc0dbf709995648784e1a2c27fc9.png

If Gavin gave Lochinvar Flash a 28 day holiday on 15th of April, as he should have, the stars would have aligned differently & he wouldn't have been in yesterdays C3 race.

With that, he might still be alive & the other two dogs that received injuries Monday in the race, because of his waywardness, might not have received their injuries at all.

Thanks once again for your diligence Gavin. You've served the greyhound code with your own personal agenda at the forefront of your decision making, collusion & corruption.

Lochinvar Flash would be home tonight having his dinner, if he was a chaser & not a fighter.

Lucky it was only his ultimate fate that he decided today.

Thanks Australia for another negative stat for greyhound racing in NZ. I hope you're proud of the decision you made to send your mongrel over here.

In the future, keep your shit over there...

Gavin Whiterod and Mike Austin are just not capable and seriously cannot Read a dog race.

There are some very big difference between these two gentleman.

Mike has integrity & Gavin lacks it. Mike actually tries to do a good job, Gavin doesn't.

Mike does lack some of the knowledge of how to be a Steward for the greyhound code, but I believe with time & not being supressed & held back by the corrupt decisions handed down under Gavin's leadership, he will learn the game & become one of the better, if not best Steward we have looking after the code.

Yes Mike has made his fair share of mistakes, but never once have I gone over the top about any of them. His mistakes were made with the right intentions. Most people learn from their mistakes & I believe that Mike is that type of person.
