Congrats to him for getting over there with a nice horse. Grabs the cash..I just don’t understand why more trainers don’t do it. In the majority of cases, horses here are good enough to earn a nice slice of the stake. And there is a race for every horse, especially in Victoria. At my track there were a couple of smart horses that should have gone to Oz, one I particular was a very good middle distance handicapper that would have just kept bringing in the money in Sydney..one nice mare did go to Victoria but that exercise highlighted the lack of experience by both trainer and owners in taking on group company at carnival time. As we said, should have gone in June,July when tracks were soft and so were the fields...

All I can say is if they were my horses there would be no way I’m coping the scratching fees and any associated costs. The trainer can stump up for those .....
