  2. The Lane's End-consigned Tarabi (First Samurai) (hip 142), second to future champion Echo Zulu (Gun Runner) in the GI Spinaway S. and third to that rival in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at two and winner of the Wilton S. at Saratoga last season, fetched a final bid of $1.05 million from Spendthrift Farm as the opening session of the Keeneland November Sale picked up a bit of steam. The chestnut, a full-sister to the talented GSP & G1SP Japanese turf sprinter Shivaji, is out of an unraced daughter of Grade II winner Buy the Barrel (E Dubai), also the dam of the English Group 3-placed Mise En Rose (War Front) and MSP Stave (Ghostzapper). Tarabi was the third in a stretch of five hips to change hands for seven figures, as both GSW Surprisingly (Mastery) and MGSW/MGISP Technical Analysis (GB) (Kingman {GB}) were knocked down for an even $1 million. The former sold to Mike Repole via his agent Jacob West from the Claiborne Farm draft, while Technical Analysis was purchased by Japan's J S Company from Elite Sales. Spendthrift bought five mares at Fasig-Tipton Tuesday, topped by GI Kentucky Oaks winner Secret Oath (Arrogate) for $3 million. 5. Andrew Rosen's Skims (GB) (Frankel {GB}) became the first to achieve a seven-figure pricetag as Book 1 of the Keeneland November hit its midpoint Wednesday afternoon in Lexington, hammering to Summer Wind Equine's Jane Lyon for $1.8 million. Consigned to the sale as hip 125 by Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services, agent, the 4-year-old raced as a homebred for Rosen and was conditioned by Shug McGaughey to four wins from her 14 career starts, highlighted by a victory in the GII Sands Point S. as a 3-year-old in 2022. 6. By Jonny Turner Nathan Williamson has missions in his hometown before setting his sights on New Zealand Cup week. The trainer-driver takes two horses north to Oamaru today in Itoje and Ruby Roe, with both bringing excellent recent trial form to their assignments. Itoje had a reputation long before joining Williamson’s barn after his purchase by Australian owner Mick Boots. Whether the horse gets to strut his stuff during the New Zealand Cup Carnival will depend on how he performs in race 6 at Oamaru. “I have nominated him for Show Day, but we will see how he goes at Oamaru,” Williamson said. “This trip is a bit of a tester, and we will see how he goes.” “He is still a big baby, even though he has had a bit of age about him he obviously hasn’t had a lot of racing or been too far before.” “We will see how he goes; we have until next Wednesday to decide whether he goes to the South Of The Waitaki race.” Itoje will have his first standing start at Oamaru for junior driver Oliver Kite. Williamson is hopeful the pacer can step away cleanly and show his true worth. “We think he is sensible enough to handle it. He has had two stands at the workouts, and he’s stepped away well both times.” “It is always a totally different proposition at the races, but I don’t think it will be a problem.” Ruby Roe will have her first start in race 4 after impressing in her recent trials and workouts. From barrier 5, the filly looks set for a big debut. “She is nice; I have been impressed with her since she has come to my place,” Williamson said. “I am just babysitting her for John and Katrina Price.” “You don’t know exactly what to expect until they do it at the races, but I would expect her to be going a pretty nice race.” Williamson will have starters at Wyndham on Sunday before lining up Pembrook Playboy in the New Zealand Cup on Tuesday. The trainer-driver was rapt to secure barrier 1 for his classy pacer. “I am rapt with the draw. The big question was going to be how do we get to the markers.” “He will step away great from there, and hopefully, we can settle behind one of the main fancies, and we will see what he can do from there.” Williamson also starts Advance Party in the Group One Nevele R Fillies Series Final and Rise Up N Dance in a graded event. Joining him will be French group stakes winner as a 2-year-old, MGSW Sacred Life (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), who retired with 27 career starts. During that time, he was on the board in 19, including a pair of graded stakes wins. He will stand for $2,000 LFSN with concessions to black-type mares. 11. Group 2 winner El Caballo (GB) (Havana Gold {Ire}) will stand at Culworth Grounds Farm in 2024, the stud announced on Wednesday. The four-year-old will stand at £6,000 in his first season. This is a first stallion for Culworth Grounds, which is owned by Sophie Buckley, a familiar face on the sales circuit as a consignor and pinhooker. She said, “We are delighted to have secured El Caballo. He was a precocious, tough and consistent racehorse. Bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud he has an excellent pedigree and is rated only one pound lower than their super sire Havana Grey (GB). El Caballo is an exciting prospect offering breeders access to a fast, current and successful family at exceptional value.” A £30,000 Goffs UK Premier yearling, bought by his trainer Karl Burke, El Caballo is a half-brother to four winners including the Italian Listed winner Avengers Queen (GB) (Brazen Beau {Aus}). 15. Seventeen years have passed since Teofilo (Ire), a member of the second crop of Galileo (Ire), blazed a trail through his unbeaten juvenile season, ending the year as champion two-year-old after beating Holy Roman Emperor (Ire) in the G1 National and G1 Dewhurst S. Jim Bolger's homebred raced solely at seven furlongs that year, and his subsequent injury in the spring of 2007 meant that we could only guess at what he might have achieved at three and beyond. By that August he had been retired without ever returning to the track. His racing career may have been cut short, but his stud career has dropped plenty of hints as to what his profile may have been had he raced on. Teofilo has been far from a one-dimensional stallion in his 16 years spent continuously at Kidangan Stud. This week, he has been back in the news courtesy of his third Melbourne Cup winner in the last six years, Without A Fight (Ire) having followed Cross Counter (Ire) and Twilight Payment (Ire) onto that particular roll of honour. While there are a good number of stayers among Teofilo's top runners – the Gold Cup winner Subjectivist (GB) and Prix du Cadran winner Quest For More (Ire) included – this is by no means his hallmark. If anything is, it's his versatility. In his first crop Teofilo sired the Dewhurst winner Parish Hall (Ire), and if he looked like the second coming it was perhaps no surprise, as the colt, inbred 3×3 to Sadler's Wells, raced in the same familiar colours of Jackie Bolger, having been bred by her husband Jim, the man born on Christmas Day who masterminded Teofilo's own racing career and has bred a number of his best offspring. The Irish St Leger winner Voleuse De Coeurs (Ire) was another member of that first crop, and since then Teofilo has been represented by a Group 1 winner from every year of production through to his current crop of four-year-olds, including Irish Derby winner Trading Leather (Ire), Irish 1,000 Guineas and Yorkshire Oaks winner Pleascach (Ire) and the Prix Jean Prat winner Havana Gold (Ire). The latter is of course the sire of the G1 Flying Five winner and rising young sire Havana Grey (GB), giving the line an extra speedy dimension. Among this season's three-year-olds has been the GII Sands Point S. winner Eternal Point (Ire), who has won two graded stakes races this autumn. About to turn 20, Teofilo is at that stage where, if his influence is strong enough, he should be appearing as the broodmare sire of top winners, and this he has started to do with regularity. Last season's 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas winner Cachet (Ire) and Coroebus (Ire) were both out of Teofilo mares, giving him a notable Classic double. A son of Dubawi (Ire), the ill-fated Coroebus was bred on the reserve cross to that which produced Without A Fight. Teofilo's run in this sphere is extended by last season's G1 Preis der Diana winner Toskana Belle (Fr) (Shamalgan {Fr}) and by the previous year's Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Mac Swiney (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}), while the dual Group 1 winner Dreamloper (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) is also out of one of his daughters. Given his location, it is no surprise that Teofilo has ended up covering a number of Dubawi mares, and there are now seven stakes winners bred on this cross from 49 named foals. His 24th Group 1 winner, Without A Fight, who started his career with Simon and Ed Crisford before staying permanently in Australia with Anthony and Sam Freedman, was bred by Dubawi's owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum. His dam Khor Sheed was bought for the sheikh as a yearling for 42,000gns by Luca Cumani. The half-sister to the Group 1 winner Prince Kirk (Fr) (Selkirk) had already passed through the Tattersalls sale ring as a foal, where she was signed for by Joe Foley at 22,000gns. Khor Sheed, later trained by Cumani, won the Listed Empress S. at Newmarket on only her second start at two, and the following year claimed another Listed win as well as the G3 Premio Sergio Cumani, named in honour of the trainer's father. She has produced four winners to date, Without A Fight being way out in front on the list with an impressive 11 wins from his 23 starts. He became only the twelfth horse to win both the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, and he has won a further two group races in Australia this year, as well as the G3 John Smith's Silver Cup and two Listed contests in England. The December before Without A Fight made his debut, Khor Sheed returned to Tattersalls and was bought from Godolphin by Harry Dutfield for 26,000gns. The Havana Gold foal she was carrying was born dead and she produced two subsequent fillies for Dutfield before being returned barren to the Tattersalls February Sale this year. By this stage, Without A Fight was a Group 3 winner and the mare's first foal, the unraced Sharja Spirit (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), had produced the Grade II winner Avenue De France (GB) (Cityscape {GB}). Mick Donohoe signed for Khor Sheed on her fourth visit to the sale ring, buying the 15-year-old on behalf of Yulong for 28,000gns. “She is in foal to Lucky Vega so that was a nice little update,” Donohoe confirmed. “She's a stakes-winning Dubawi mare and she had bred a stakes winner, and one of her daughters had bred a stakes winner, too.” He added, “Harry Dutfield was very forthcoming with a genuine reason why she was barren, so she just made sense, and obviously the Teofilo horse was a good horse anyway, so it all worked out.” On Wednesday, it was announced that Subjectivist, the aforementioned Royal Ascot winner, who also won the G1 Prix Royal Oak and G2 Dubai Gold Cup along with the most coveted staying prize of them all, would be standing at Alne Park Stud next year. Havana Gold sadly died earlier this year, leaving only Massaat (Ire) and Parish Hall (Ire) of Teofilo's sons at stud, through it is easy to imagine the line continuing, at least in the immediate future, through his grandson Havana Grey. As for Teofilo himself, he is reported to be in rude health ahead of his 17th covering season at Darley's Kildangan Stud, where his fee remains at €30,000. Unlike some, it hasn't fluctuated that much over the years. He started out at €40,000 and dipped to €15,000 in 'that difficult fourth season' that so frustrates stallion owners, and reached a high point of €50,000 in 2014. Understandably, Kildangan's nominations manager Eamon Moloney is a big fan of Teofilo, having worked with him for years. He told TDN, “He's the most extraordinary horse and I just wish he got the credit he deserves. “We make no secret of the fact that his fertility has slipped slightly through the years as he's got older, so he's been covering 80 mares per year and at that we can keep his fertility to a very high level. “He's a very important member of Kildangan. Once Teo has started then the lads can start up the rest of the day. He's a big, substantial horse and he charges out to his paddock. He's a tough sort of a horse, but there's a gentle giant behind it.” Moloney added, “He's in great health at 19, rising 20, and he very much has pride of place here.” The post ‘He Has Pride of Place Here’: All Hail Teofilo, the Cups King appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions. 17. Star stayer Subjectivist (GB) (Teofilo {Ire}–Reckoning {Ire}, by Danehill Dancer {Ire}) will stand at Alne Park Stud in 2024, the stud posted on X. The two-time Group 1 winner's fee will be £4,000. Alne Park Stud director Grace Skelton, wife of National Hunt trainer Dan Skelton, said, “The addition of Subjectivist to our stallion roster is a huge leap forward for Alne Park Stud. To stand a stallion of this calibre is an immense honour. “We firmly believe that keeping this exceptional stallion in the UK is a real boost to British breeders and we hope that he will see plenty of support in his debut season.” Bred by Mascalls Stud, he was purchased for Marc Chan by former trainer Mark Johnston for 62,000gns out of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. A juvenile winner, his 3-year-old season was highlighted by a score in the G3 March S. at Goodwood prior to winning the G1 Prix Royal-Oak later that year. He resumed at four with a tally in the G2 Dubai Gold Cup and delivered a tour de force in the G1 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in 2021. Returning to the racecourse this year after recovering from a tendon injury, he made three starts, with his two final starts resulting in a pair of thirds in the Dubai Gold Cup in March and the Gold Cup at Ascot in June for Mark's son Charlie. Subjectivist's record stands at 20-6-4-4 and $1,191,024 in earnings. He was retired earlier this year after his Royal Ascot run. Mark Johnston added, “I always say that, when placing horses, the opposition trumps all other factors. But, very rarely, you come across a horse where the opposition isn't a factor at all. Subjectivist was such a horse. “In 2021, I truly believed that there wasn't a horse in the world that could beat him at two miles or more, in any ground.” Out of a multiple stakes-placed half-sister to GIII My Charmer H. second Hope Cross (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}), Subjectivist is a half-brother to multiple group winner Sir Ron Priestley (GB) (Australia {GB}) who was second in the G1 St Leger and third in the G1 Goodwood Cup; and G2 Rockfel S. third Alba Rose (GB) (Muhaarar {GB}). 19. The 2024 Rathasker Stud roster and fees, anchored by Bungle Inthejungle (GB) at €7,500, were announced on Wednesday. The sire of six stakes horses in 2023, the 13-year-old has been represented by G3 Marble Hill S. winner and G1 Phoenix S. third Givemethebeatboys (Ire), as well as American listed winner Manhattan Jungle (Ire) among others. The son of Exceed And Excel (Aus) covered 64 mares this year. Coulsty (Ire) has been priced at €5,500. A total of 90 mares visited him this year. Grade I winner Shantisara (Ire) padded her resume with a victory in the GII Hillsborough S., and she made $1.3 million on the bid of Shadai Farm at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale on Tuesday evening. Rounding out the roster is Gregorian (Ire) at €4,500. The group sire has seven stakes winners to his credit lifetime. All three offer Oct. 1st terms. “Rathasker stallions continue to produce high class racehorses on the track and therefore, are popular at the sales. We have priced our stallions for the commercial market, giving breeders a good opportunity to make a profit,” said Rathasker's Maurice Burns. 20. As the line-up continues to take shape at Steve Parkin's new stallion operation at Dullingham Park near Newmarket, it has been announced that the G2 Flying Childers winner Soldier's Call (GB) will move from Ireland to join this season's top-rated sprinter Shaquille (GB) on the roster. In his debut season, Shaquille will stand for £15,000, while Soldier's Call's fee for 2024 will be £8,500. He stood at €7,500 this season and covered 190 mares. One of this year's leading first-season sires, Soldier's Call began his career at Joe Foley's Ballyhane Stud and has to date been represented by 25 individual winners, including the G3 Prix Eclipse winner Dawn Charger (Ire). He became the first Royal Ascot winner for Parkin's Clipper Logistics and also for his trainer Archie Watson in the Listed Windsor Castle S. Later that season he was third, beaten a neck, when competing against his elders in the G1 Prix de l'Abbaye. Parkin said, “Soldier's Call is obviously very close to my heart. He gave us so many great days on the racecourse, and we couldn't be happier with the start that he has made at Ballyhane Stud, thanks to the support of the breeders in Ireland. He is siring plenty of fast two-year-olds very much in his image, and we look forward to bringing him to England to bolster our roster alongside the hugely exciting dual Group 1 winner Shaquille.” Foley, who is director of operations at Dullingham Park as well as running Ballyhane, added, “We're all delighted with the fast start that Soldier's Call has made. He's proven himself to be a talented stallion and I'm sure he'll be a great success in Dullingham Park.” The post Shaquille’s Fee Set at £15,000; Soldier’s Call Moves to Dullingham Park appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions. 21. Emma-Lee Browne is reminded of her favourite horse Monarch Chimes every time she looks at emerging filly Basilinna. A talented jumper who contested the Grand National ‘Chase and Grand Annual ‘Chase, Monarch Chimes stole his trainer’s heart during a 38-start racing career and was loved as much for his ability as he was for his kind nature. Browne was left gutted after the horse’s death in 2019 and said her husband David turned to the online auctions to help mend her broken heart. He paid a mere $500 for aging Shinko King mare So Royal and hoped that the connection to the late sire would bring his wife some comfort. Four years later, she’s brought them a Classic contender. On Thursday, Basilinna tackles the Group 1 VRC Oaks (2500m) at Flemington on what shapes as a monumental day for the husband-and-wife training duo. A product of So Royal’s mating with young New Zealand sire Staphanos, Basilinna has already exceeded the expectations of her connections. “We lost Monarch Chimes, who was very good jumper and was close to my heart,” Browne said. “My dear husband thought what better thing to do for me than buy a $500 broodmare by the same sire to make me feel better. “We really liked the Japanese influence and we had been looking at Staphanos and Satono Alladin. “Staphanos was reasonably priced for where we were at with our breeding and when we went and saw him, I really liked him, so my mind was made up. “We bought her (Basilinna) to Australia with the thought that we’ll see how we go and she’s already exceeded our expectations.” While there are obvious physical differences between Monarch Chimes and Basilinna, Browne said there are definitely also some likenesses between the pair when it comes to their attitudes. Like she did with Monarch Chimes, Browne said her daughter Lucy has forged a strong bond with the filly. “There are probably a few similarities between this filly and Monarch Chimes, but he was a jumper, so she’s obviously a lot more forward than he was,” she said. “She is built quite similar, big and strong, but she probably gets that from her mum. “They have the same attitude – he was a one-person horse and she is a little bit the same, although it’s my daughter Lucy and not me.” Basilinna earned her place in Thursday’s $1 million race with a closing third in the G3 Ethereal Stakes (2000m) last start and Browne said her program since has gone according to plan. Retiring superstar Damien Oliver will ride the three-year-old, who is rated a $9.50 chance with Sportsbet after drawing barrier two. Victory will well and truly announce the arrival of the Brownes to Victoria, little more than 18 months after relocating from New Zealand. “I can’t fault her coming into Thursday and we’re just excited to be there,” she said. “She’s done everything right to this point and trained on well so you don’t get too nervous – what will be, will be. “Having Damien Oliver stick with her is a massive plus.” View the full article
  22. Five Diamonds contender Palmetto (NZ) (Ghibellines) is yet to win beyond 1600m, but trainer John Sargent has no qualms about him extending to 1800m in the A$2 million showpiece. The tough gelding booked his spot in Saturday’s race with a fighting victory in the Prelude (1500m) and Sargent said that on pedigree and racing style, he had no concerns over the extra journey. “Not with his breeding and he runs on speed, so he is going to be right in there and we’ll be after the $2 million,” Sargent said. “The extra distance, I think, will suit him.” Palmetto showed his quality with a victory in The Coast earlier this year and Sargent held him in high enough regard to test the waters in the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m). That venture didn’t come off, but the horse was far from disgraced in finishing 5-1/2 lengths from the likes of Huetor (Archipenko) and Numerian (Holy Roman Emperor). “And that was at the end of his campaign, now he’s going the right way,” Sargent said. Kathy O’Hara partnered Palmetto in the Prelude and has retained the mount in the Five Diamonds (1800m) at Rosehill. While the horse started double-figure odds in his lead-up, Sargent said he had needed racing to bring him to his peak and “took a long time to get right”. “He seems to be really well now, and his coat is really good so hopefully he’s on the way up,” he said. “Kathy O’Hara came and galloped him last week and she thought he was exactly as he was last start or had improved. “A few of those form horses have come up from Melbourne but I think he’s good value.” Palmetto was a $13 chance for the Five Diamonds after drawing barrier three on Wednesday with betting headed by the Tony Gollan-trained Antino (NZ) (Redwood) ($3.40), who drew immediately inside Palmetto. 23. Sea the Stars (Ire) and Siyouni (Fr), the flagship stallions of the Aga Khan Studs in Ireland and France respectively, have each had their fees increased to €200,000 for 2024. Representing a career high for both stallions, Sea The Stars stood at €180,000 in 2023 and covered 180 mares, while Siyouni covered 135 at €150,000. The Aga Khan Studs will have two new stallions next season, with last year's Cartier champion three-year-old, the G1 Prix du Jockey Club and G1 Eclipse S. winner Vadeni (Fr), joining the roster at Haras de Bonneval at €18,000. There he will stand alongside fellow newcomer Erevann (Fr), who is being introduced at €8,000. Completing the team of four stallions in France is Zarak (Fr), whose fee will remain at €60,000 in a year in which he was represented by his first Group 1 winner, Zagrey (Fr), and covered 130 mares. The leading sire in France and second in Europe by prize-money, Siyouni's year has been highlighted by the Classic winners Paddington (GB), who has recently joined the Coolmore roster, and Tahiyra (Fr), the winners of seven Group 1 races between them this season. There have also been Group 1 victories for Mqse De Sevigne (Fr) and the Australian filly Amelia's Jewel (Aus). Siyouni is also the broodmare sire of new recruit Erevann, who is out of his first Classic winner Erevdya (Fr) and, like Zarak, a son of Dubawi (Ire). Beaten by half a length with third behind Inspiral (GB) in the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois, Erevann won the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein and G3 Prix Paul de Moussac. Hukum (Ire), a recent recruit to Darley Japan, was the leading light for Sea The Stars (Ire) this season, whose quartet of Group 1 winners was completed by Emily Upjohn (GB), Sea Silk Road (Ire) and, in Australia, Just Fine (Ire). He also features as the broodmare sire of Friday's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Unquestionable (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}). Georges Rimaud, manager of the Aga Khan Studs in France, said, “With two internationally proven leading sires, one rapidly rising star and two exciting new stallions to offer breeders in 2024, we go into next year with as strong a roster as we have ever had. We look forward to showing them to breeders over the next few weeks, and invite people to get in touch with myself or Fanny Cypres in France, or Pat Downes or Julie White in Ireland, to discuss their mating plans.” The post Sea The Stars and Siyouni to Stand at €200,000 in 2024 appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions. 24. G3 Marble Hill S. winner and G1 Middle Park S. runner-up Castle Star (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) will stand his first season at Capital Stud for a fee of €5,000. We are excited for the 2024 breeding season ahead and welcome breeders to come to see him. “Alkumait has been very well supported in his first two seasons at stud and his first foals look the part. 25. Change of tact for Andrew McKerrow After being involved in the racing industry for more than 35 years, Salvation Army race chaplain Andrew McKerrow will take on a new job in the new year though he won’t be completely lost to racing. With his trademark chocolate treats ever present he’s been a regular at racetracks around the country, especially in the South Island, for drivers, trainers, jockeys and anyone else looking for support and guidance. His new job is a full-time ministry with the Salvation Army in the Christchurch suburb of Belfast. The new job means he won’t travel as much as he has. “I will still be attending all Christchurch race meetings and will be available for pastoral care when needed. It’s business as usual for Christchurch racing.” Harness Racing New Zealand CEO Gary Woodam was among those to praise McKerrow’s contribution to the sport. “Andrew has been like a family member to our participants. He is the one you confide in and look for help from when in need, or just have a chat with, he covers all types of conversations.” “On behalf of all the hundreds of harness people he’s had contact with and those he has helped, we thank him for his contribution and Andrew can be very proud of what he has achieved. Nairn’s big win Trotting trainer Paul Nairn’s genius has been well documented and Head Em Up’s win at Addington last Friday was another notable success. He bred, co-owns, trained and drove the horse to win a Group 3 (the two year old Trotting Stakes), a rare occurrence indeed. Race day return for Just Believe Inter-Dominion champion Just Believe will return to racing at Melton on Saturday night. It will be his first run since returning from a terrific three-race Swedish campaign in May/June. “He’ll run Saturday night and possibly back up the week after, too, but we’ll play that by ear,” trainer Jess Tubbs said. “He’s ready to go, we’re really happy with how he’s come up.” Just Believe has been sharpened-up with two recent Melton trials and will tackle the 2240m Touch Merchant free-for-all on Saturday night. Yet another milestone for Dex Ten-time New Zealand champion Dexter Dunn has topped $1m in stakes earnings in North America this year. With 202 wins from 1205 drives he has totalled $10,107,962 in stakes to be fourth overall behind Yannick Gingras ($13,827,367), Tim Tetrick ($12,621,253) and David Miller ($10,229,080). Tough draws for top stable Usually such a dominant force on the big days Purdon Racing could be feeling a bit hard done by after the draws were released for IRT New Zealand Cup Day at Addington next Tuesday. Cup favourite Akuta drawing 15 in the big race was far from ideal and then Mark and Nathan Purdon had unbeaten filly Millwood Nike draw 15 in the Group 1 Nevele R 50 years Of Success Final, hotpot Chase A Dream draw 15 in the Woodlands Stud Sires’ Stakes Final for the 2YO Colts and geldings and Don’t Stop Dreaming draw the outside of the front line in the TAB Junior Free For All. Cup day betting options A $100,000 terminating Pick 6 has been confirmed for IRT New Zealand Cup day next Tuesday. There will also be bonus back on the opening six races, and $20,000 guaranteed First 4s all day. View the full article
