Flicking through the Karaka May sale catalogue at the moment, some interesting lots on offer with Cambridge stud putting up 22 mares.

Getting an El Roca filly getting broken in at the moment, athletic type, breaker thought that she'd been through a yearling prep and had plenty of handling prior to getting her. He was a little shocked that she was straight out of the paddock, took everything in her stride. Fingers crossed !

3 mares in foal, I'll be using my stallion shares on them to keep cost under control, happy with what they have produced so far. I breed for the sales if they are colts, but hold on to fillies as there is little point from what we have experienced. How about your plans/numbers ?

It's a shame they can't keep the fans under control, more ugly scenes, not a good look.

Fitness and a good team approach, even without the supposed key players, they keep putting in. They came out of the top of the table clash with the points look like real top 8 contenders this year. They should be relatively unaffected by the state of origin taking players and that's a bonus.

What a fantastic start to the season for a team that has failed to deliver for several years, they are playing 80 minutes and seem to be better in the 2nd half whatever the conditions. The ref's calls tonight appear to be against the warriors but they haven't dropped their bundle and that's against the top of the table. I take my hat off to them as I have been a non believer but enjoy the fact that they are winners and getting good crowds to the games as well.
