On Tuesday morning, it was announced that Godolphin duo Cylinder and In Secret have been snapped up by slot holders for the 2023 edition of The Everest (1200m).

Having lost Giga Kick from the race due to injury over the weekend, James Harron has secured three-year-old Cylinder in the race following the colts narrow defeat in Saturday’s Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m).

Harron will be hoping Cylinder can claim the race worth $20million as a three-year-old with 53kg, much the same as he did last year with Giga Kick.

No jockey has been announced yet for Cylinder.

Two-time Flemington Group 1 winner In Secret will be looking to add The Everest to her already impressive resume.

With wins in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) and Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) as a three-year-old, the now four-year-old daughter of I Am Invincible will be looking to hand Godolphin a first win in the race.

Hong Kong-based superstar jockey Zac Purton has been booked to partner In Secret in The Everest at Royal Randwick on October 14.

Just four slots remain to be filled for the 2023 edition of The Everest, with Chris Waller Racing, Coolmore, Yulong Investments and now Aquis Farm all yet to fill their slots.

Aquis Farm had originally selected Annabel Neasham’s Sunshine In Paris, but the star mare has been forced to withdraw due to a ligament injury announced on Tuesday afternoon.
