Southern Alps Challange-13th April

Seems a good concept, be a few Sth Island trainers, owners and riders happy to be chasing $350k on Sat 13th. 
Hopefully the major spoils go to local connections, those not associated with larger satellite stables.

Although the rules are clearly defined so at least the horses need to be based and have raced from the south island stable for a few months thus contributing to the southern racing economy.  North Island entities are not the only group to provide people who can train.

I do like the idea that 3 from the Southern mile and 3 winners of other races are guaranteed a start, that Southern mile should have guaranteed all 10 heat winners a start, that was anomoly of that concept, something maybe for next time perhaps.

A work in progress I suppose.  As long as the concept is dissected before next year's running and adapted to make it better.
