Greg and Craig both know that it is so stupid to be having races at 2400metres???? If it is such a great idea, then let us run all our mobile starts from the 2400metre ark rather than 2600m. The fact that they had 12 nominations doesnt mean it is a great idea, they wouldve had at least that at 2600m!!!! Anyway I look forward to them having a lot more 2400m races from there including mobiles. Why do you think they altered the trials decades ago from the 2400m? Cos it was stupid!!!!!!! Brodie
Do they call that a standing start?? They were all on the move. What constitutes a standing start now? Lets have more of these 2400m races but call them what they! No they didnt use the mobile start but seriously calling it a stand?? You have to laugh at O'Connor, Cross and Whale when they try to analyze the way the race will be run and mention half the field and then it is run completely different and two of the horses they don't mention run in the first three. Better entertainment than the races.
Brodie
Just watched Harness Unhinged video on the race! It clearly shows the start as being a tolling start, with all horses rolling forward! Nigrl asked Colin about the 2400 metre starting point and he commented that it wasnt the best!! So why did they program 2400metres and call it a stand when it wasnt?? Seriously though, we all know that Lamb was not a great starter, and were hoping that his replacement Was going to be better. Reality is, he is but his ability with the standing starts is now questionable. There is absolutely no consistency and the experienced horsemen are taking advantage of the starters leniency! Every race, there are horses in full racing action as the tapes are released and it is being very poorly policed. There are horses off the unruly that are sometimes 30metres behind when he lets them go! It is either a standing start or it isnt and HRNZ need to seriously discuss with their starter what a STANDING START is and for him to abide by having standing starts. Otherwise it is just a farce, so get rid of all stands if the official starter doesnt know what to STAND means?

Try it and you will probably get away with it. What are the stipes doing? Yes it is farcical !!!!
