Cancel Culture Is Alive In Greyhound Racing

I had previously posted a spreadsheet showing the injury rate of the current racing season, which was 19 days into it.

I then received notification from @Chief Stipe that he had received a creditable complaint (overnight no less) that my figures were incorrect.

So, let's try it this way, buy using the official's words.

#1 02 Aug Chch.

That's what they have to say, as reported by the RIB on GRNZ's website.

6 Major 1 injuries (22 to 42 days).

10 Major 2 injuries (43 to 90 days).

During the 16 individual days during this racing season which race meets were held. One greyhound per day (on average) is off to the greyhound injury ward.

No matter how they want to spin (or cancel/hide) it. It isn't pretty.

I don't know about you @Chief Stipe, but I believe the sanitized version I was publishing without the dog's names & dates was more appropriate for your forum. That said, either way will work I suppose.

One final note to be fair & transparent, the spreadsheet I had initially posted which @Chief Stipe won't let you see, did have an error because of this following instance, which I found very unclear between the multiple Stewards reports, as to what actually did happen.

09 Aug Wang Oval.

  • image.thumb.png.0bd0c0038ef13c7a1456b408ae05413d.png

I've now removed this instance from my spreadsheet to reflect that no 28-day stand-downs were issued for 09 Aug race meet due to racing injuries, which I now believe is the correct data of the meet.

No cancel culture.  Your spreadsheets are inaccurate as are the inferences you draw from them.

Particularly when you take what essentially is a snapshot of data to skew/bias the data to support your hypothesis.

Misinformation at best.  You should apply for a job at the Climate Change desk of the BBC.  They have mastered the art of selectively choosing time periods to show an emerging climatic disaster.

Which is akin to choosing 3 weeks of data and inferring a trend or a problem.

So, you are suggesting starting the new season data I'm collecting since 1 Aug, which just happens to be the same day GRNZ's 2024-2025 season begins, as me cherry picking data timeframes.

Got it.

Just to be clear, are all what are deemed to be inaccurate threads/posts hidden on your forum?

I'm not above making valid complaints of my own in the future.

Effectively Chazza all you are doing with your irrational obsessive campaign is to feed the Anti-Greyhound brigade.  Although I suspect even they wouldn't use your material due to its lack of veracity.

So calling out GRNZ & the RIB for their misdoings, shortfalls and/or empty words put me on par with the anti-racing community?

I didn't realize I was supposed to eat the food powers have fed me in order to follow the industry.

Let's keep Manukau & Cambridge the great safe/low injury tracks we all know they were & are! They won't become more dangerous than any other NZ tracks until GRNZ has told me that's the case. But what about their safety rails, especially Manukau's...?
