Yankiwi
They didn't catch the 2:05pm flight since the post time was 2:24pm. So, if they flew it (which I don't believe they would have) it wouldn't have departed until 4:10pm. Arrived Chch 5:30pm, then driven from the airport to Rangiora. Then another 24 minutes by vehicle. Auckland/Cambridge have an RTR facility in close proximity. Wanganui/Palmerston North have an RTR facility in close proximity. Christchurch has an RTR facility in close proximity. Invercargill not so much. Tape them up & give them a splint and hope no-one works out what's happening. What about the stops every couple of hours to empty the dogs (not just the dog with a broken leg) but a van/trailer/bus full of their other dogs? The same trainer had 41 dogs that got a start that needed to go home too. So that keeps the injured dog at the track until after 3:30pm, then an 8-hour drive to Rangiora. Tack on at least another couple of hours for emptying stops. A dog with a broken leg didn't make it to the RTR facility until the next morning, at best. If welfare unpins everything GRNZ does, the welfare in GRNZ terms must mean a voodoo doll, because this instance is full of pins & their words are full of holes. Either that or the Stewards report is a fraud. Take your pick. Go ahead and ring GRNZ @Chief Stipe. Find out what magical thing they claim happened, so you can come back & have a go at me. On 7 Aug in Invercargill, this happened. Then in a follow up about More Proof a week later.

Yankiwi
https://www.lovegreyhounds.org.nz/ Vets ensure greyhound welfare all day, every day? What about Saturdays? Christmas day? Vets monitor every dog before and after every race? They didn't today. They only monitored 5 of the 73 starters after their race today. How about telling the truth for a change GRNZ? If that's what the industry claims that they do, then why shouldn't it be expected? It's their own mandate. Only 5 of the 73 starters were monitored post-race at PN yesterday. After adding the additional 4 post-race swab dogs, the remaining 64 starters went to the washdown bay, then straight back to their trailer, van or whatever their means of transport was. That's 12% of the dogs which were monitored, not "every dog".

Then you would have 95 dogs out of 100 listed as OK. Then if one of them got ill on the way home it would seem someone like you would point the finger. 34 minutes ago, Yankiwi said: Only 5 of the 73 starters were monitored post-race at PN yesterday. As stated above this is the GreatMates cap, I have one as I work for RTR North. This cap has been approved by GRNZ to wear on track. I have been advised their next lot will be black so hopefully that will satisfy you. Have a wonderful day.
