Yankiwi
I don't say this often, but you're doing the right thing here GRNZ. Further evaluation of the Invercargill track has resulted in a greater amount of work required so the track will not be available next week, nor for Fri 8 November or Wed 13 November. An additional meeting has been scheduled for Addington next Wednesday 30 October, so the revised Addington schedule for next week is now: The injury data was overwhelming in saying there was a serious problem. Going forward, act sooner rather than later. Warning bells were ringing after the first two race meets of the season. Those bells changed to a siren after the third meeting. Yankiwi
First quarter of the GRNZ 2024/2025 season is complete. There's one stand-out track which is Cambridge landing well within the GRNZ KPI standards. Well done Cambridge! As for the other six tracks, I guess we'll have to call them stand-down tracks. Major 2+ category. Akl 170% excess injuries Chch 93% excess injuries Wang Oval 95% excess injuries Wang Str 100% excess injuries Palm 49% excess injuries South 349% excess injuries. All tracks combined with 9448 total starters, 20 dogs was considered the acceptable attrition rate by incurring a major 2+ injury per GRNZ's KPI. The results show that 42 dogs incurred a major 2+ injury, which is over double the KPI amount leading to 22 extra real dogs ending their racing career due to them. The breakdown of region/track configuration isn't a good look either. To compare Quarter 1 in the 2023/2024 seasons with the current 2024/2025 season, it looks terrible. Every individual track preformed worse than the previous season. So GRNZ, whatever you are doing to try to minimize major 2+ injuries isn't working. Read your own number, wear them & do something different, because what you've done so far has made it twice as bad as the previous season.
